PLAYING TYPE IN ONE CHARACTER

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:44 pm

Hi Dragonborns,

I've got a question and would like to discuss here. My current setup is a two handed person and would like to sometimes play as a conjurer. My various status are as follows:

Level: 57
Pending perks: 26

Perks invested are as follows.

For enchanting:
Enchanter (5/5)
Insightful Enchanter
Corpus Enchanter
Extra Effect

For smithing:
Smithing (all except glass)
Juggernaut (5/5)
Well Fitted
Tower of Strength
Matching Set

For two handed:
Juggernaut (5/5)

Stats are as follows (without wearing any kind of apparels):

Magika: 240
Health: 430
Stamina: 190

I've got many resources as well including enchanter's elixir and blacksmith's elixir, Is it advisable to be a conjurer as well and followings?

Heavy armor ok, so that I don't have to invest in light armor tree?
Conjuration dual casting is ok?
What kind of good enchantment to invest in a conjuration set of armor?
Any other comments or inputs?

Thanks alot for kind advise.

With regards,
AJGC

Didn't really understand some of it, but I'll answer as best as I can.
1. You can be a conjurer if you want, conjure a thrall if you're lonely.
2. None of them are necessary.
3. Fortify Conjuration.

Somehow, if you were referring to Enchanting, not Conjuration, Enchanting goes very well with Smithing. Smith a weapon, improve to Legendary, then enchant it.
In my experience, I have never come across with something other than a potion that boosts Enchanting.

I conjure Flame Atronach's when I'm lonely, cause she's hot.

Since you already can make dual enchanted items, cost reducing gear can make lower level summons cheap to recast. If you have been to Highgate Ruins and defeated Vokun, the Flaming Familiar is a cheap and fun summons.
I do not know if the bug between the Atronach Alteration Perk, and Conjuration spells not working has been fixed, but this did ruin one of my earlier attempts at making a Conjuring Warrior. I hit 100 in Alteration an spent the two perks without knowing that any castings would be reabsorbed :brokencomputer:

This for sure. ^

Before putting any more into Magicka think long and hard about enchanting 4 items with Fortify Conjuration. You'll get 0 spell cost from it and since your summoned beings don't drain Magicka per sec (that I know of) you can change in and out of gear as necessary if you want to save your enchants.

Edited for clarity.

Hi buckom,

I see, I will try tomorrow. And where can I buy conjure thrall spell books? And I just see from uesp.net that we can use dremora lord also, seems cool.

Thralls are better or lords? Also, if for fun switching to conjurer, you think I can manage with a dragon or end of dungeon boss fight by using twin souls and the follower?

Thralls are permanent, and won't go away unless killed. Dremora Lords have a time limit to how long they can be around before disappearing.

To get the thrall spells, you have to do the Conjuration Ritual Spell quest at the College of Winterhold after getting conjuration to 90. After that, you can buy them from the Conjuration Master (whose name escapes me at the moment).

Sorry, I used the word "thrall" - I changed it to "summoned being". The summoned beings have time limits and thralls are 'permanent'. :P

As I understand Conjuration the summons last for a certain amount of time, but don't tick your Magicka away while they're about.

I'm pretty sure you'll have no problem against dragons and bosses with 2 summons and a follower.
