Is Umbra & hisher sword in Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:01 pm

Can anyone tell me if the Umbra sword is in Skyrim anywhere?

I'm a bit of a fan & it would be nice after having it in Morrowind & Oblivion to be able to wield it in the Nordlands!

If you want to read up on Umbra and what happened to it after the Oblivion Crisis, I suggest you get the two Elder Scrolls books, 'The Infernal City', and 'Lord of Souls'. Both deal with Umbra and events taking place at the beginning of the Fourth Era.

It is not in Skyrim, it was destroyed in the book.

It would have been a dagger anyway. In lore the possixrs of Umbra sharpened it fanatically, gradually shrinking the blade. It was a greatsword in Morrowind, a longsword in Oblivion, so it would have been a dagger in Skyrim.

The story was Bethesda's.

Soul trap can be applied to a weapon, so just apply that enchantment to an Ebony Weapon of choice, and name it Umbra. Problem solved.

And Bethesda may have told the author of the books to destroy Umbra.

Well since in MW its a greatsword and less then 10 years (not to shure on exact time) later its a longsword. The 200 years it took from OB to Skyrim the damn thing would be a toothpick.

Bah..one of my main characters wielded Umbra. Anyone know how it wound up in Morrowind even though the main character in Oblivion got it?

I loved Umbra. Chillrend is slowly becoming the "IT" sword if you'd say. I remember when I 1st got that Sword and fought her, was a true duel. Fairly decent opponent.

Prize welll worth it. What do I do? I make Honed Ancient Nord Sword's into "Umbra" offsprings. (Enchant one with Soul Trap).

Closest thing, not the strongest no.. but looks wise yeah. Lol.

Only other sword I could think of is the Nightingale Blade. That thing is pretty BA and a unique sword.

EDIT: Throndar you opened my mind to all sorts of back story. Holy crap.. I've never read that. I knew SOME of it.. but not all of it. Great read.. didn't read it all but I want to now. Very interesting..

I personally rather have Chrysamere than Umbra. Maybe some day Chrysamere will return and I am hoping for it to come back in Skyrim... don't really want to get a mod for that sword since I kinda don't have Skyrim for the computer.

As for Umbra, it is destroyed. Gone for good.

Actually, I think Bethesda's plans for Umbra started back in Morrowind, if you ask me.
