so, i have a question.. when clearing a dungeon, i sometimes leave loots and other items that i could not carry anymore, and later go back to the dungeon again to retreive them.. but how long is the max time before those items or dead bodies disappear permanently??

also, when i joined the companions, i was given my own bed and chest, right?? will the chest given to me reset it's item every now and then or would they stay there forever?

i understand that buying a house would give me a chest to store all my items as i wish, but my money is not enough to buy one right now..

If you want to test aload of containers to see if its safe empty it of stuff and put back 1 of somthing that will stand out, i use single arrows like forsworn or falmer as they svck are waightless and plentiful, then wait 30 in game days without revisiting the site go back and bamb, you should have your answer, i have tested alot of abandoned shacks like this, non have yet to yeild many usefull containers. imo you need at least three to sort out your gear i prefer alot more like 10 lol most house just dont have enough. whole rooms and crafting stations without storage?! random npc often have better homes only perk of player homes is display furniture (but its so buggy it almost never works) Better houses beth!!
