Demonstrate your Thu'um - The ShoutMasters' hang-out.

Keej (Dutch slang for 'OK', pronounced 'kay')

The point of this thread is to encourage people to provide descriptions (or even screenies or vidz) for the benefit of others as to your best, most ingenious, funniest, most rewarding etc experiences of using your shouting abilities DURING "NORMAL' GAMEPLAY....

..except FUS-RO-DAH because it has been done to death everywhere!

(Unless you've got proof of something unique, that I'll allow)

If "The Community" co-operates in good spirits, we'll end up with something that could be edited into a 'master class' in proper use of the Thu'um, which even the 'rim wiki doesn't have yet.

I'll declare a vested interest from the start...

The 'personal journey' that this game has taken me on since 11/11/11 has led me to becoming a relectant 'guide author' in respect of using voice commands to increase the immersion of playing Skyrim. As a result of this, I've discovered that shouting has become less of a marketing novelty and more of a useful skill which can be concentrated on as much as any of the others.

So, I'll start off with this, from maybe a month ago (don't wanna drop any nukes at the start, wanna leave space for everyone else to have their say) whilst I was refining my 'voice commands' profile....

I was wandering about in the wilderness to the West of Windhelm, at night, practicing my shouting when I came across a Giant & his Mammoth. I said 'Raan Mir Tah' to summon Animal Allegiance and 'Thu'um' to cast it on the mammoth. After I'd backed off and watched the Nellie trunk the giant to death, I spoke 'Krii Lun Aus, Thu'um Grah Mul' to reduce the rampant woolly beast to a limp pile then wandered over casually and finished it off with a single blow from my 'soul trap' dagger.

Quiet & efficient!

So, I invite you all...

Demonstrate your Thu'um - show how you are (becoming) a worthy Dokahkin .....

"Slow TIme" shout after chugging a limited duration potion effectively gives it longer duration. Most often I use that with Fortify Smithing or Fortify Enchanting, just before activating the respective workbench. For enchanting, it the shout effect ends as soon as you create an enchantment, but it does give you extra time to set things up.

Awesome hint!

One thing I go for asap if I am planning on any Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood quests is the Quiet Casting perk in the Illusion tree.

Clear Skies. Only works outdoors, but proves a good Unrelenting Force replacement that recharges fast.

Great hint!!

I've used the "Slow Time" with an invisibility potion to sneak past multiple enemies. It make's it much easier to time their movement's, so makes planing your's out easier. I've gotten most of the way through TG, w/o killing anyone including
Spoiler
The Dwemer Museum

Excuse the pun, but timeing is everything!

Argis The Bulwark wasn't with me tonight because he was dismissed when Farkas went on my quest to evaluate me for the Companions. After that, I went to Winterhold to take care of business since I'm the Arch-mage and had to deliver a few things. After that, I headed east and ended up out on the glacier somewhere when I ran into a Wispmother. There aren't a lot of great opportunities to use Storm Call without injuring innocent bystanders and it was perfect for this situation. I called for the storm and watched as the bolts of lightning made little blue puddles on the ice, and then I looted them. :tes:

Throw voice to gather a group of enemies into one spot, then Frenzy on one of them to hit them all. By the time you get them set up, you can instantly follow the Frenzy with fire or frost breath.

Of course, there's also throw voice to tee them up for ice form or fus ro dah or whatever you see fit to do.
