What potions do you care to create in Skyrim?

Word. I like that. I honestly felt a bit overwhelmed with Alchemy as this is my first TES game, so I use it almost in a purpose-driven way and never developed using it beyond that. Like, I'm going to do some smithing, so I'll go find out what ingredients I need and go find enough to make 1 potion. Figuring out how to get a potion with good effects and no bad ones seemed a little too much figuring for me at the time, so I never got into it. I did see a seemingly nice app for the ipad that could ride along side me when i play and be used as a quick alchemy reference perhaps. I have a zillion of everything ingredients wise, so maybe I do need to sit down and potion/poison up.

It did vex me that players cannot make an 'Ultimate' potion that could heal a stat to full no matter what it was, but I still prefer my home made heal potion to a single effect Ultimate one.
It "vex[ed]" you? Are you from the 1600s? :P So how do they make "Ultimates"? Restoration glitch? Dual Headpiece glitch?

Alchemy is my favourite skill in the whole game and by far the most useful and versatile. If you're good at alchemy, you can be good with all other skills too with a correct brew.

Fortify Destruction potion plus weakness to poison/magic/element poison combo makes playing a destruction mage feel really OP even on master, without having to stun-lock all enemies.

My favourite poison is Slow + Damage health from salt pile, deathbell and red mountain flower, because you can make loads of it, unlike paralyse poisons which need rarer ingredients.

Paralyse poison is great for reverse pickpocketing onto trainers and stealing back that 20k gold just spent on high level training. All the master trainers in my game must feel like they have dovahkiin triggered epilepsy. =)

Snowberries, hawk beak and bone meal make a resist fire/frost/shock potion, which is super useful to have in any mage or dragon fight.

Invisibility potions have saved me in a lot of tight situations, while fortify sneak potions are great early game while your skill is too low and you still get spotted a lot.

I also often use fortify archery/one handed potions to save an enchanting slot on my armor.

Fortify Destruction.

Most poisons.

Fortify Enchanting/Smithing when I bothered to craft super gear.

Yeah, who is it exactly that can make a potion that will give +600 Health? Some NPC 'sploiter? (I already use 2 headpieces, so I know it has to be more than that. :P )
The "vexes" comes from watching Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves because of this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1362173-dunmer-arent-british/page__fromsearch__1
And I must have been influenced by this (about 0:14): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6I_8HXcO54

Aye, Alchemy is a beast while you are still skilling up, and I think it is still worth the perk points at max level. I never perked out the poison side though because poisons are already OP without the perks.
I got the Invisibility spell as soon as I could, however, because I didn't like the effect having to be reapplied every time you did something which meant carrying a ton of potions around.

OK, then...as long you only take "vex" away from that and not the vigorous dagger stabbing that preceded it.

:o Well, that's like holding a candle to the devil, isn't it?

I made fortify enchanting 32% and fortify smithing 130% potions (I should add that there's a bugged dwemer quest that perminently increases your smithing abilities by 15% in a western city)

Other than that, I collect/buy ultimate healing potions so the only other potions I create are even more health potions and damage health poisons. I don't use any other potions/poisons I create.
