Custom Armor Color would be awesome!

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:20 pm

I wish that we could add custom colors to most armors. Maybe not to the more intricate ones like glass, dragon, ebony, or daedric. If we could add them to everything under that though that'd be AWESOME!!

Edit: I play on the Xbox so a mod is not an option for me at the moment.

for some reason, I thought custom armor color was a given in this upcoming game, was suprised it wasn't an option. Why does all glass armor have to be green?

INB4 someone else who is bound to say it "that is what mods are for", but I think I would have like to see the ability to add custom symbols and designs to the armor.

Maybe adding like trinkets or some sort of markings but colouring is a title out there...I mean who wants blue Steel Plate armour.

do the majority of TES players play on their PC? Every response for a game issue is "mod", as if PS3/Xbox users dont exist.....I dunno, I feel like we're left in the dark out here, stuck with bone white dragon armor.....

This is what I was getting at. I'd like more customization in my armor. Some black Steel Plate Armor with a symbol for my character emblazoned on the gauntlets and shoulder pieces would be awesome.

It wouldn't have to be something as extreme as blue, what about a white main color and a gold trim for a "Glory Knight" or Paladin? I think it would make playing a certain kind of character feel much more fulfilling. Maybe you would have to go to a place like Radiant Raiments or an Armorer to get the armor colored.

cuz I'm the Juggernaut b!tch j/k.....but really tho, if I just want to. Maybe I want to paint it red, for the blood my comrades have shed, or black for the dragon blood I shed all over Skyrim. I dunno, just to further write my story, you kno? Even if it's not dragon armor, wut if I want red glass armor on the PS3? I should have that option.....

well, have you read any of the Game of Throne books? Many of the descriptions of the knights and warriors describe fighters with color armor with a family symbol on it (the wolf, the lion, or even flowers or spears).

Maybe different materials could usher in different colors for the armors. Have the standard ore and then the uniquely colored ore be more rare. Say I find the bones of a blood dragon I expect them to be blood red, frost dragon? How about a snowy bluish white. If I fight an ancient one? How about a piercing steel like grey or iron black? How about a unique mesh of Orcish and ebony ore? Would it be hard to imagine a red iron ore? Hell even the proper heating could induce a unique color. When katanas are forged in real life they get their black in white sheen from how they are cooled. Would be nice to add certain customization's as well such as chains, arm guards flags insignia crests symbols emblems. Maybe emblazon your markings so when you sell an armor you forged it can get sold to maybe a bandit and if you killed him and check the armor you could find your symbol on it and be like one less [censored] using my hard made gear! Would love this, bethesda get to this!

I actually play skyrim both on PC (traveling) and on the ps3 (when at home). I do use mods on my pc versions of games, but not many of them as even though there is some good ones finding a lot of those really good ones can be hard depending on personal tastes. I do think that adding as someone said trinkets and maybe insignia or other personal expressions to armor to be something I could get into especially from an rp perspective. As for who would color bones well a lot of people though tends to be mostly tribal people. Like my wife's people who use colored bone beads.

Yeah that'd be great. I'd personally go for my glass armor to have a main color of black and the trim be gold or red.

How is colored armor bad? It's an option that a player could have, but wouldn't have to use. I was talking about realistic armor coloring too. Some armors would be able to be more colorful than others. Glass is already colorful so that would have lots of options while Orcish would be very limited and only be dark hues.

right, because somehow the core of MY game on my console is effecting your game on your PC/console?
"if you wanna ruin ur game?" who are you to say a player is ruining their game? with all the customization options that gaming offers, there's no reason they can't fit this in.....

I like this Idea, but wouldn't you say that this is nearing Fable II?

But I still like it, it'd be awesome if I could paint my Steel Plate armour pitch place and paint the under garments dark red, or paint it white, paint the trim gold and recolour the under garments dark blue.

No, only on PC where everything is the color I make it in GIMP. Part of the fun of TES for me anyway is changing things to my liking. For the 6 months I played oblivion on xbox before breaking down and building a PC to play oblivion I just cheated a lot.

I fear(not really ) skyrim will claim a few victims. Just wait, soon you will want the power

I already got Oblivion for my computer so it's tempting to get Skyrim. I'm not sure if my computer can handle it though. It's a stock early 2011 13 inch Macbook Pro with Windows 7 and Snow Leopard.

Me to, and this is not something who are easy to mod, only thing you can do in a mod is to add different color armor you can craft.
