Has anyone actually gotten nightingale hall upgraded like it supposedly is meant to? Karliah fails to return there, rather she goes to snowveil sanctum where you first met her

You can't upgrade it.

But after the quest it gets a minor upgrade - the bed(s) and bookshelves in the first chamber (on the far side of the "canol").

This is where the mods come in and you download them and the modders will upgrade the hall for you. And if you are on a console, then a guess you just have to deal with it. Beth leaves a large portion the game untouched, which svcks for console players, because modders fill up the empty parts.

I've actually never gone back to check. I will right now.

Nightingale Hall is still kinda' dumpy, but had the straw beds across the bridge. Karliah was in Snow Veil Sanctum in my game too.
