Hi all, new to the forums, massive skyrim fan, one of the best games ive ever played. Member of Clan ARC (Ancient Relics Coalition)

played the game to death on xbox360, done almost every possible mission. but have found myself a little stuck in the game, my character is currently level 56, done every possible mission, or so i thought, i wanted to get the 1000G gamerscore on xbox live, so needed to complete the quests/achievments "Alduins wall", "dragon slayer" etc. BUT the only issue is that i cannot find where to start these missions as i have just completed the civil war with the stormcloaks. after looking on the forums and on the net it seems like i need to start the mission where you meet Esbern who is hiding out in Riften, but as i have completed the stormcloaks quest is this now unavailable to me??

any help would be gladly appreciated, i have spent so much time in this game it would be a pain to start from scratch just to do these missions. it also means i have missed out on some very useful shouts and dragon story lines.

You haven't completed the main quest then yet.
Don't worry, doing the stormcloaks quests first doesn't prevent you from doing the MQ (makes it a little easier in fact), but it's hard to advise you where to go next as I don't know how far you've progressed in the MQ.
Have you been to High Hrothgar yet?

Completing the civil war story line does not prevent you from completing the main quests and has very little to do with the main story line in general. Have you got the quest 'A Cornered Rat' in your journal? It directs you to Brynjolf in Riften sewers. If you don't have the quest, you need to talk to Delphine in Riverwood, she's the quest giver - she's supposed to give you the quest immediately after completing Diplomatic Immunity, but according to the wiki there's a bug that sometimes prevents the quest from starting. If you hit the bug, there's nothing you can do unless you're on PC, but talking to her again might trigger it.

thanks guys ive done everything else, completed the thieves guild, completed the companions, i talk to Brynjolf and he just says "i dont have time to talk to you right now", ive been to riverwood and im sure i spoke to delphine but nothing about the cornered rat mission. ive even been under riften and found esbern. but still no luck. is Hrothgar the castle place with the grey beards? ive been up there aswell and spoken to all of those. still no mission :S

Well none of the guild quests are related to the main quest.
Have you done Diplomatic Immunity? That's the quest that comes before A Cornerned Rat.

Have a browse on the wiki, it's generally the most complete source of information and gives workarounds for any bugs. if you've definitely done Diplomatic Immunity, then you've hit a bug. Are you running the newest patch, by the way? Supposedly, 1.5 fixed the bug where the quest fails to start.

yes ive definitely done diplomatic immunity, (because i remember not giving anything to the guy to store for in the chest! doh! major fail lol) but got through it. ive tried reading through any books that ive picked up. im loading my game up again now and gonna hunt down delphine again even though im sure ive talked to her. any new patches that pop up on xbox live ive installed. hmmmmm.....

well ive just loaded up my go, ive found delphine at the Inn in Riverwood and gone through all her chat options and doesnt give me the cornered rat mission. gone through all my books and even found the book that talks about esbern that i picked up from the chest in the mission "diplomatic Immunity", so im well and truly stuck
