Do arrows shoot FROM the knee?

Anyone else get frustrated when trying to snipe from a ledge or down stairs and have there arrows constantly hitting the ground in front of them?

It's almost as though arrows really do get shot FROM the knee!!

It only happens when you take an arrow to the knee.
