Having spent the last 8 months or so not gaming, due to heavy workloads at school and the office, I recently decided to finally bite the bullet and get a copy of Skyrim as I have some time off and the damage this game can cause to my social and work life is pretty minimal over summer
. Unfortunately I am one of the unlucky folks, I don't know how many there are, who are suffering with the stuttering on indoor environments glitch that a few have dubbed the "64hz" bug, IE indoor environments when doing any panning with mouse or game pad stutters like crazy without FPS drop.. ...My rig specs will be listed below, but from what I understand this isn't a hardware related problem- I initially assumed crossfire issue, but after many driver sets and CAP profile the problem was still there even with only of my 5870's in the rig. So I guess what I'm asking is: has there been a good fix for this yet? I use the word "good" as so far the only thing to get rid of the stuttering has been to run the game in windowed mode which kills crossfire, VSYNC and also messes with the brightness setting in game.
so there it is, I'm not looking to troll, or get all " I WANT MY ******* MONEYBACK!!!" about it, LOL, I just wanted to inquire if any of the good folks here on the forums have had any success with dealing with this issue. I do feel a little disappointed merely based on the fact this issue seems to have been around since launch and it's still present on my copy of the game. I'm running the latest version of the game from steam, and I've tried a varying number of drivers from 11.8-12.4 with CF on or off.
system specs:
i7920@3.8GHZ
x2 5870 sapphire vapor-x 2GB version (4GB total VRAM)
EVGA x58 mobo
corsair HX1000W PSU
6GB corsair DDR3 1600 dominator.
running on a 2048x1152 res monitor (16:9)
as mentioned above, I've tried a number of different drivers, CF on or OFF, turning in game AA off completely, running on low and the stuttering still continues indoors, with outdoor environments looking clean and pretty fluid, all things accounted for.
Any tips or things I can try greatly appreciated as I really want to enjoy the crap out of, what looks to be, an awesome title.
thanks for taking the time to read.
B.
