Shor’s Blessing Add-on
Shor’s Blessing Storyline
In this storyline, the player is faced with a visit from Shor who used to rule over Sovngarde and has offered assistance to the Dragonborn in defending Skyrim against Thalmor. He states the only reason he is doing this, because he is in debt to the Dragonborn for defending Sovngarde from Alduin hunger. He then proceeds to give the player Sleipnir to aid him on his quest to defend Skyrim and defeat Thalmor.
Sleipnir
This horse is exactly like Shadowmere’s stats, but is unique in look. It is an ethereal horse that has piercing blue eyes and a long flowing mane. It also leaves a fog like trail behind in its wake as the player rides it across the planes. When attacking, it exhales flames as it attacks an enemy. Sleipnir is considered a Hero Character and can’t be killed much like Shadowmere. This horse is gained at the beginning of the main quest line for the Shor’s Blessing Add-on.
Horse Training and Attacks
The horse’s behavior can be changed by training your horse and are active effects that change the behavior of your horse’s A.I. Your horse can be trained different moves that it can use while attacking enemies which determines the outcome of the battle such as stomping, biting, kicking, or charging. The damage the horse does depend on the armor and training it has received from the player. When the player is riding the horse, the player can choose a horse power move to use when hitting the power attack button.
Dragonborn Horse Shouts
With the release of the new horse content, shouts are added that can only be used while riding a horse or horse is near the player. If the player uses this shout while not riding the horse or within distance of the horse, the shout will fail. There is even a new shout that allows you to summon your horse to your side so you can ride off.
Horse Armor Smithing, Enhancing, or Enchanting
This Add-on also includes the ability to smith Horse Armor from ingots. The horse’s A.I. is much like a Companion except for each the armor can only be equipped by horses. Each horse’s armor is unique only to the horse and can be enchanted to increase the horse’s Health, Stamina, attacks, or add Elemental Damage. Also the player can enhance the horse’s armor by using smithing to increase the added defense to the armor.
