Daedric armor is scarce!

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:45 pm

I'm level 60 and the only piece of daedric armor I've procured are boots. I've seen none for sale by vendors. I read in the wiki that daedric armor is 20 times likely to appear. If I knew they would be this hard to find I would've picked the daedric armor perk in smithing a while back. I've two more perks to go before I can choose daedric smithing (lvl 100).

As an aside, I wonder why daedric maces and war axes deal the same damage as ebony? An oversight?

Finding Dragon armor is even harder, if you want Daedric you'll want to investigate the Atronach forge under the College of Winterhold. That is if you don't intend to pump perk points into the smithing tree.

The difficulty in finding these armors in the wild is out of all proportion to the ease of making them yourself.

You are very lucky, karmictaragem. My main character is level 63 and so far I have found 0 daedric armor pieces, 2 dragonscale armor pieces (helmet and boots) and 0 dragonplate armor pieces. I found 2 daedric bows so far.

Yes it is, and yes it should be. I think I've found (in about 480 hours) two dragon-bone shields, a pair of daedric boots and a daedric mace. That's the lot. I think I'd like to see quests for such things though.

i would suggest to use the smithing tree perk, its worth it.
or you can try the duplication glitch, but that won't produce the right gear if you don't have it.

or you can try this person suggestion, but the human heart sometimes is harder to find than deadra hearts.

Yeah, I think I found a pair of boots on my dude and boots and a helmet on my chick.

I think Daedric and Ebony are so close stat-wise in general because some people won't wear Daedric because of the evil-ish nature so Ebony is a very close runner-up.

Finding Dragon armor is even harder...
I've found a few pieces of Dragon armor on each character. I guess everything is random on all levels.

It should be, but it isn't since we can make them for ourselves by the time we reach level 20. In oblivion, every bandit and their mom was running around in full daedric armor. In Skyrim, however, no-one is running around with them except for your character if he becomes a master smith. I don't think it should be that way, that smithing allows you to create something at level 20 that is nearly impossible to find even at level 80.

I'm level 28 and smithed myself a daedric mace, some boots and armour, the key to getting Daedric armour is finding the hearts Ebony is easy enough But the hearts are rare.
Try searching for Daedera related quest they will be bound to be found as loot on those quest, Ebony is easy enough just mine it and loot it until blacksmiths start to sell them.

Good. I hated how every bandit and his marauder mate had their own suit in oblivion.

The wiki says that Dragonbone / Dragonscale / Daedric is twenty times less likely to appear than other armor types. So if (any armor type) has a 1/100 chance to spawn, dragon and daedric have a 1/2000 chance to spawn. (Examples, not actual stats)

Found 1 pair of Dragonscale gauntlets and 1 Daedric waraxe on my current character. Her only smithing perks are steel and arcane blacksmith and it really makes finding these items special when you can't craft them.
