Here is very interesting Lets Play series by a fellow named gixG17 who does some marvelous play throughs while having a small camera on him in the corner of the screen so you can see his reactions etc. He has a very unique play style and seeing him doing a thief character really shows how completely different each person can end up playing Skyrim-

Theres also a Reviewer goes by the name MMOx who does very detailed reviews of many mods in a nice short span of time listing many of the pros and cons of whether one should use the mods. He is very fair and evenhanded with his reviews while still expressing his personal opinion on them. He also plans to tackle the mountains of mods which will be released once the Creation Kit is out-

I was considering doing my own version of a Skyrim Let's Play Video.

Do you think they are overdone?

If not how would you guys think I should go about it?

I could use my main character Deimos or should I start a new character at lvl 1?

The LP's are a little bit overdone, but still I think it may be enjoyable for yourself, and viewers. I also don't see why it would be much of a problem to just continue on with your main character, because most of all the LP's have people starting from level one, and people are eventually going to get sick of the same thing, so it has to have more spice then the rest.

Maybe just do some detailed walkthroughs of dungeons, quests, or how to obtain certain items?

My character is at lvl 12. I think that should be fine. I think he has the Wabbajack too. If not I was planning on getting the Wabbajack with him, so it should be fun to start off getting the Wabbajack.

Agreed, that quest is very entertaining. Also will you be using a microphone to talk? It's far more entertaining to listen to someone through a walk-through. It makes the viewers understand what's going on, and if you have an humorous personality, people love that.

Yes I will be talking in the video. But not by very much, imo. That's what makes Let's Play very annoying. It's okay not to talk once in a while to just let the action run through and play. Sheogorath has some very interesting things to say that I would not want to interrupt, or maybe I do. But I probably won't. Possibly not.

That's true, I could see how it could get annoying to hear someone constantly talk. But humorous remarks throughout the video do help. Anyways if you decide to go through with the LP I wish you luck, and I'll keep my eye on this thread in case you do.

I would say start from the beginning, but try and do something that people haven't done before!

For example, I'm guessing you're on PC, use the Live Another Life mod, and follow your characters life as someone who is NOT Dragonborn

There are WAY too many of them so unless you have a new twist, like everyone's on fire or naked or made of cheese or something then I wouldn't bother...

Go for it! Everyone's videos are different, I love watching them. They're not overdone - thatd be like saying 'oh you can't make another character, because you've already made a few.'
To be honest though, I've only ever seen a few I like. Most of them are 'I'm going to try and be funny so that I can get lots of subs!!!!!' which annoys me to no end.
And I'd definitely start a new character - the best part about LPs is watching the character develop from the moment they leave Helgen to the end of the series!
