The windhelm house would be awesome if it worked. However the 5 mannequins and over a dozen display cases and weapon racks/plaques don't work so it svcks big donkey balls. Add onto that [censored] gets knocked over for no reason and the items on my kitchen table rattle fort no reason. It's a disappointing mess.

I agree: if it worked, the one in Windhelm would be the best house for displaying all the hard earned loot.

Yeah I lost some nice items I had hanging on the walls in Windhelm. Had a ghost sword hanging on one of the plaque and it just one day disappeared. I also have had items jump out of the display cases and some of those vanish.

I've heard that happens in Whiterun too. I stored Ghostblade in a dresser and didn't have any problems. Now I carry it as my primary melee weapon - gotta love a weight of 1!

I like Honeyside the best probably because I like the forests of the Rift.

I have owned the houses in Riften, Markarth, Solitude, Windhelm in addition to the Breezehome at Whiterun. I still like Breezehome best. I'm very used to it and I like how small it is and have many containers. I use one container for food, one for books, one for ingredients, one for misc, one for apparel, one for weapons, one for claws, one for amulets and one for potions.

I have a similar setup in Breezehome. One chest for smithing materials, one of gems/jewelry, one end table for soul gems, one end table for quest items, one barrel for ale/mead/etc. I only wish it did have a mannequin or two, maybe another weapon rack. I love the fact that it's right next door to two smithing vendors. The missing enchanting table isn't that much of a problem as I'd rather go to the castle to do it anyway as there is a mage vendor right there.
