I'm currently on my second play through, as a Nord warrior, yet again. I sort of broke the game with my first character, and became godly to the point of boredom. I rushed through the main quest just to complete it, and this time around i'm going for a bit more challenge RP'ing a DiD Nord warrior. Except this time I'm shooting for the highly mobile, lightly armored sword n'board (well, axe really) Nord with some archery mixed in. I'm sticking with "Nord looking" light armors and items, so I'm avoiding that chunky glass crap and all that fairy looking elven [censored]. So far, it's going really well, and the challenge this is providing is definitely what I was missing the first time around.


Anyways, I was busy hoofing it over to the volcanic region to hit the Evergleam to complete the relevant quest. I came prepared because on my last play through I repeatedly got hit by dragons in that particular area. Plenty of potions, arrows, poins, soul gems, etc.

I was leading my follower, Faendal, and Maurice down the road, and stopped at Mixwater mill for a minute to take stock and make some last minute adjustments before continuing on.


Cue the Dragon theme music.

As soon as the music starts, the bow is out and I'm hauling A to a better vantage point. Being lightly armored, being able to move quickly to get away from these elemental attacks is what has saved my hide so far; my quick reflexes perk and bow and shield mobility perks have proven invaluable for this.

I'm looking around for the dragon to fire off a shot, when big blast of flame erupts to my right. A flame dragon. No problem.

I pop off a quick shot as he's flying up, and look around to see where faendal is at. He's over by the river, but I see Maurice running off to my left at something, and then he suddenly gets mowed down by not one but two separate frost attacks. I look up and see two more dragons flying around Mixwater. After I crapped my pants, the only thing left I could say was Wtf?

I had about ~120 hours on my first playthrough, and never once saw more than one dragon in one location, much less three in the same small area. What gives? Has anyone else seen this before, or was this just a glitch?

I've seen 3 at once

i travelled to larzerbursh (spelling?) and they really are having bad luck. 2 ancient dragons, 1 giant, 4 spiders, and a wolf

I wanna fight 2 ancient dragons i have only ever seen 1 dragon at a time

i kinda had something like that happen to me once. i saw two dragons flying around and i went up to attack them and one came down and started to fight me. i started running around trying to get in a good spot to shoot it with my spells and i turn around and see two bears. i run away leaving lydia to fight the bears. then the dragon comes back and actually starts attacking the bears and kills one. lydia is almost dead at this point so the remaining bear comes after me and i kill it. then i kill the dragon. then the second dragon comes down and i kill that one too. i felt pretty proud of myself afterward .

I've had three dragons flying overhead at once. Only one came down to fight though. The other two just circled around for five minutes or so.

Dragons are traditionally very territorial and somewhat self centered, even among themselves. It keeps to the lore that you won`t see many in one go (unless very unusual circumstances) and if you did they`d probably attack alone to keep out of each others way.

got attacked by viinturuth and a regular dragon at once, but i was right outside a stormcloak camp and they helped me

Beyond console spawning of around 10 ancient dragon, mainly to see how my rig is handling it, (sadly starts to drop fps) I have only ever encountered two hostile dragons at the same time.

I had an Ancient and Elder dragon attack at the same time, and I was low on health potions. Luckily a giant Forsworn camp saved me.

I've seen two at a time but only one of those attacked me.

I have a screenshot somewhere of one of my characters posing in between the skeletons of two Dragons she slew outside Whiterun. It's kind of the Skyrim version of a Hemingway-esque "big game hunter" style photograph.

Yup, many a time.

I have been attacked by an Elder Dragon, a blood dragon, a giant and a frost troll all at once in a teeny tiny path. I had to rock climb the nearby mountain, put my view in 3rd person to keep track of the angry giant while doing my best to wittle down the health of the elder dragon, finding the frost troll that blended into the surrounding. Killed the Troll then altered between the elder and the blood since they both liked to fly every which way breathing fire and frost on me. Turn my camera angle just in time to narrowly dodge the giants club from sending me flying into Oblivion. Finally finding a temporary good shelter enough to wittle down the giants health only to recieve help from one of the dragons doing the killing blow to the giant, and then eventually killing off both dragons and became so heavy with loot had to leave a few bones behind. All of that took between 10-15 minutes and I felt so proud of myself aftewords. Kinda took a moment to realize I did all of that in a teeny tiny space and if not for the snow rocky mountain I most likely would of died.

I have seen a clip on youtube where a guy is getting spammed by about 4 to 5 dragons just outside Whiterun must be a mod or something?It's my dream to slay that many dragons at one time.

The only time I got jumped by two dragons was near wolf skull cave.

happened to me a couple of times, i got a regular dragon and a blood dragon and later a frost dragon and an elder dragon

Happened to me...2 times if I remember correctly...first time Frost Dragon+Blood Dragon, both breatning frost (I'm a Dunmer... -.-"), it was hard but I won.
Second time, a Frost Dragon and an Ancient Dragon, both breathing frost AGAIN......it ended with me running like a girl to the gates of Markarth (a loooong run), which are now full of guard corpses on the groung lol

I was fighting an elder dragon the other day and it landed right in front of me. Now, when it lands the ground shakes but it shook for a bit longer and I thought nothing of it. So, with a few swings of my dual wielding Ebony war axe, I slew the dragon and it tumbled down the cliff. After I gave a triumphant huff I turned back to continue my journey to come face to face with an ANCIENT dragon about 2 metres in front of me. The rest is history....

Four once, but I think it was a major glitch.

I had just fast travelled to a location, and there was a dead blood dragon which just fell out of the sky, a regular one which was already on the ground and died with one hit, and two more flying dragons.

I've been attacked by two on my PS3 version.

My Lvl 27 Nord Warrior was attacked by 2 Blood Dragons outside of Dawnstar when i was making my way to Driftshade Refuge for the Purity of Revenge quest. I had Farkas with me, and a Vigilant of Stendarr joined in too. The Dragons ended up killing the Vigilant of Stendarr, then i killed one of the Blood Dragons, and then the other Blood Dragon took off. It looked like he landed inside a Bandit Fort, but when i went in, he was gone.

Two. One of them was distracted by Necromancers, and that fight was going on right behind me as I fought the other dragon. I didn't have them both on me at once. I would have been dead had they both focused on me.
