Why can't I marry Lydia after patch 1.5 either?

It was said that I would be able to marry Lydia after patch 1.5, but there is no option for it.

Ops, problem is way more serious. I can't marry anyone and I have the Amulet on me. What did I miss?
I did three quests, getting younger couple and more elder couple, and a dead couple together?

You have to start on the quest "The Bonds of Matrimony" first. Then go and talk to her while wearing an Amulet of Mara.

Why would you marry her? She's possibly the most whiney, passive-aggressive and utterly unappealing NPC in the game. From a power-gaming perspective, she's also a bad choice. She's already a follower, so marrying her won't give you access to anything you didn't have.

Nazeem, Gisli, Farengar Secret-Fire, Grelka, Taarie, Endarie, this is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

EDIT: Okay but are you on the quest? You have to go to Riften and speak to Maramal in the Temple of Mara to start on that.

I've completed the Book of Love.
Still can't marry a single soul and I have 2 x of this Amulet, found one on a guards body once before I received the amulet again from these quests as a reward.

The main advantage (as I see it) of marrying a follower is it allows the PC to get Lover's Comfort when sleeping anywhere rather than just at the primary house.

So it could be a few things. First being that getting married and the Book of Love quest are unrelated, so that's not it. Secondly, if you're on a 360 or PS3 and you were once married and your spouse either wandered into the wilderness never to return or fell on your sword then never got back up you can't get married again. Once again would like to stress that you need to speak to Maramal to start the marriage quest. He'll either tell you the details and all that if you haven't spoken to him before, or offer to sell you an Amulet of Mara. Either one means the quest is active once you're done talking to him.

Did you buy the amulet from the priest in Riften? Other amulets of Mara don't work. Try this way.

Any Amulet of Mara works, but you need to speak to Maramal before you can ask anybody to marry.

It works now, yes. I just had to talk to Maramal about how it is done, then it seem to be activated. Good good, sorry for all the trouble!

Right, sorry for the misinformation. I assumed that the talk was secondary to the amulet while it's the exact opposite.

The three quests have nothing to do with marriage - at least not for you. Rather, they give a nifty permanent buff called the Agent of Mara that raises yer magic resistance by 15%.

You need(ed, as you've discovered :D ) to speak to Maramal in Riften for marriage.
