The couple from the Warmaiden are of mixed race, Nord and Imperial.

One of my characters that I role play has a mixed race backstory. I "built" him with the Redguard race choice, but made his skin as light as possible and gave him blond hair and blue eyes. I didn't know about that article in The Imperial Library when I did it, so I guess his mother was Nord instead of his father. The backstory had it the other way around. The idea came from wanting to play a Nord with Redguard starting skills, and grew from there.

I think you can make a mixed race character rather easilly in this game. Just select the race you want, but add in features from another race. The easiest example would be the skin shading, but cheekbones, lips, nose, jawline and others can be tweaked.

As for the game, there are several NPCs that I have seen that are not a pure representation of one race or another.

That must make it very easy for people to cheat on each other if the baby always comes out looking like the mother.

Yeah my character Arya is Dunmer and Nord. Father is Dunmer and Mother is Nord. She looks Nord with slightly slanted eyes and face of the Dunmer.
