I thought I seen everything until I seen this.
I got a quest from Markarth to kill a dragon at Dragontooth Crater. After I killed the dragon and going towards Markarth I notice this ruin.
So its a Dwarven ruin. I dispatched two bandits but there have a strange of fighting.
I cannot go in it because I need a key to get in. Is this a quest related ruin?
The ruin is

The Afflicted. They're part of a quest. There's a shrine nearby where you can start the quest.

Yep. If you're not opposed to helping the Daedric Princes, I suggest doing the quest. It's got quite the decent reward.

Make sure you have a Flawless Ruby first or you'll frustrate yourself.

And a silver ingot too... Sometimes I found them on the first draugr I encountered outside Riverwood, sometimes I had to go all over Skyrim to get on. Also, silver ore is everywhere but not a single smith will make an ingot for you. You've to use the forge yourself, something that bugs me if I don't want to specialize in smithing

I dont know if you get smithing experience for smelting ores into ingots.

I say...that..they should have gotten...William Shatner...to voice Peryite. Peryite's halting mannner of speaking reminds me of Captain Kirk.

The smiths in Whiterun sell the ingots occasionally. And you can always steal them from the Silver-Bloods.

You don't. <_< You'd think we'd get a little experience from it, but no. Maybe we need a perk called Bessemer's Blessing that will give us Smithing XP for smelting.

There is a silver ore nearby then I smelted it. I had already two ingot with me and forget where I got it from or I smelt it. I always a collector, lucky I have three flawless rubies back at Whiterun along with vampire dust.
With the quest its quite impressive more ways then one. I like the dwarven ruins in this game. It remind me the ruins in Shivering Isles but in SI it did not have the steam works and others.
I played the Daedric quests in Oblivion I sort of knew I get that but with different properties.

Wish I discover that ruin with my last character which she is a Breton mage, I would of calmed or put them in a frenzy or both.

Warning:
This daedric quest requires you to go into that ruin later on...
BUT

*that ruin is HELL long* That quest must be the longest quest i ever did. I remembered going into the ruin and half way through, i still dont see an exit or quest marker and i wondered if i went into the wrong place. Then i ran all the way back out, back to that cat at the shrine, who told me to enter that ruin, so i ran all the way back in =.=
