Always have been wondering this. Same goes for Enchanting. But I'm pretty sure that's Magic.

Light Armor is considered a stealth skill, as it's weight lets you stealth easier.

You can verify these things by looking at which nebula the skill trees are in. Red = Warrior; Blue = Mage; Green = Thief.
(I actually didn't notice that for a while)

Well, some warriors go for light armor because it's quicker, different perks, etc., but I think it's mostly used by stealth based characters.

Stealth. A certain quest which rewards a full skill set treats it that.

Actually, I think Light Armor is for both Warrior and Thief's.

My assassin character wouldn't be caught dead wearing Glass, Elven etc. He only wears leather based armor like Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood etc.

Strictly speaking, it's a Thief skill (see "Path of Shadow" -- Oghma Infinitum, and The Thief Stone (standing stone).

It's only quicker if you don't have the "Conditioning" perk in Heavy Armor. My Nord Warrior just recently got the "Conditioning" perk, and it's a night and day difference between his speed and sprint duration with full Heavy Armor on.

You can just use the warrior stone until a desirable combat level then switch to the thieves stone...
