daedric quest-whispiring door......ebony sword of deceit

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:10 am

im on the hunt for my deadric quests trophy and i need to know who and how many people do i need to kill with this damn sword before it returns to its glory????

i mean i have a few shopkeepers i know well but i use them constantly for barter and i have already killed 2 housecarls in mareketh and whiterun so im kind of stuck as to who or where to go to get the deed done(honestly....i should have heeded the warning in the book that was with the sword!)

AND FINALLY.......................is this killing spree actually required to get the deadric trophy????as it advised that the quest was complete once sword was retrieved

please help fellow adventurers :thanks: :tes:

Spoiler
You must use the sword to either kill someone close to you or gain great infamy through its regular use

For every two such characters killed the weapon increases in power, adding 2 to the strength of the life leech effect (up to the maximum of 30).
From the Skyrim wiki. So it's just how strong you want the absorb health to be. And you should get Oblivion Walker when you get the required number of artifacts.

you dont have to kill anyone with the sword to get the OW achievement. You just have to have it in your inventory for a second.

Like Aphea said, you don't need to kill anyone with the Ebony Blade to get Oblivion Walker. Just completing the quest is enough.

If you do decide to beef up the sword, however, Meridia speaks to you after every two kills to let you know you're actually progressing and when the sword is at its full power.

Um, Mephala.

And you can use dead thrall to revive your victim to be killed again.

I just killed Farengar (you can kill him during this quest!) and Thralled him and killed him again, and brought him back a few more times to kill him some more. Good clean fun.

To get Oblivion Walker achievement you don't need to do anything other then obtain all the daedric items at some point in the game, you don't even need to keep them. I threw away Ebony armor and a few others during my game but I still got the achievement, all that is required is that at some point during your game the item has been in your inventory.

If you don't have Dead Thrall, activate the Ritual Stone (East of Whiterun) and start the mission Lights Out! in Solitude. There are a few named characters you can kill and thrall over and over again to make the blade reach its full potential without killing useful people.
