Worst time to turn full vampire...

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:04 pm

So I've turned into a full vampire upon arriving in towns before, but it was nothing compared to how crazy this time was...

What I didn't realize was that I was about to turn into a full vampire, not a big deal, right? Well, I had just picked up Esbern from the Rat-Way, meaning he was following me. Well, I show up in Riverwood and I get the message "As a full-vampire you are hated and feared", and my first thought was "OH FRICK!!". I turrn around to see if Esbern turns hostile (Hoping that he wouldn't...) and sure enough, he turns hostile and attacks me. Then, as I try to make off for the nearest house to feed, I hear the telltale sound of a Dragons roar and Esbern says "Lookout, its a dragon!". So, I use Embrace of Shadows and escape into a house and feed before Esbern can follow me. Upon exiting the house Esbern is still hostile, but the entire town is not. So I have Esbern launching Fire spells at me and an Elder Dragon attempting to roast me with fire. Eventually, I sheathed my weapon and Esbern stopping being hostile, and I killed the Dragon. After the Dragon died the entire town was hostile towards Esbern for being hostile towards me after I became a tier 1 vampire again....

Moral of the story: Make sure you feed when you need to *FACE PALM*

Going into High Hrothgar. The Greybeards will exterminate you. I made that mistake once, and only once.

After the Dragon died the entire town was hostile towards Esbern
I don't know, this sounds well worth the trouble. It would've been better if they'd all attack Delphine, too.

Of course, then again it svcks that these two are essential and won't be exterminated by the townsfolk. :(

I had a funny glitch with an Imperial Courier spawning inside of Riften's walls. He ran towards the marketplace, where the guards took care of him. Every time I reloaded to get rid of the glitch, Maven then started to go berserk on the guards. They took care of her as well quite nicely, but she's essential, too.

Reminds me of Oblivion when every now and then the citizens would butcher each other because someone took an apple.

I often pop into the College as I turn Stage 4. Not fun times. Even when I go invisible everybody still flips out on my followers and there ends up being a huge battle and then nobody wants to go to sleep so I can feed on them because Jenassa keeps stabbing them in the face. Oops!

Not turned full vampire for the first time yet. How many times does the screen go red before you turn? It's done it twice on me so far

Being a Vamp just takes alot of planning and dedication and only those who are willing to jump through hoops shuld play as them. It is rewarding and arduous

Worst time for me was on my current character. I was at a low level and had gotten careless, and I turned in the middle of the Markarth marketplace at high noon. I ran outside the city and jumped into the river, but the current carried the guards and some townsfolk down with me. I ran into a Forsworn redoubt, I can't remember which, and popped Embrace of Shadows. I had to weave around all the conflict, and I finally made it to Dragon Bridge later that night to feed. I didn't bother to go back and see who had and hadn't survived.

Heard of the necromage perk? Vampires are superior in every way.

Like I said above, necromage combined with vampirism is very strong.

Even without Necromage, vampirism on a stealth-heavy character is extremely powerful. Necromage makes it viable to use as a mage or magic user, which is also pretty keen.

Aye agreed but do you know how long it takes to get restoration to 70 without cheating or powwergaming

I prefer the mod . While it makes you relative poweful at nights without really unbalacing the game it gives some harsh penalties when you are outside during the day

My assassin is a vamp and only used the occasional healing spell. Never used necromage but it really helps on stealth and works good for my rp
