I've noticed several threads that become locked after a while...usually after ~7-8 pages worth of comments.

What is the reason for this? I ask, because often the topic is an interesting, or at the very least, a contested one and they make more interesting reading. And some of the stickied topics go for ten times the number of posts.

The Forum Engine gets indigestion when it has to chew on more than 200 posts. The ensuing mess is not pretty. Think of a paper shredder puking and you will get the idea. So, we close threads at 200 posts. This does not mean that someone can not start a second thread.

I am closing this one at 2 posts though, as it is not on topic for Skyrim.
