To which degree has MK been involved in this game?

I know he left Bethesda during Morrowind, but he was involved in Oblivion.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't find anything related.

Michael Kirkbride. One of the writers. The one who wrote the weirder stuff in Morrowind, among other things.

As for his involvement, no idea.

Michael Kirkbride. Famous for being... rather cryptic, to understate things.

The visible parts of the Thalmor's plan looks suspiciously like a http://www.imperial-library.info/content/forum-archives-michael-kirkbride.

I was also getting a bit of a MK vibe from Heimskr, the somewhat mad Talos priest in Whiterun.

That's right. The Thalmor want to uncreate reality. :ooo:

I am sure that the developers still consulted him for ideas when writing the story. Kirkbride was pretty much responsible for setting up all the worlds lore and history.

It would be like individual authors writing Star Wars novels. They would still have to stick to the over-arching ideas and concepts of George Lucas.

Aha...
I doubt it, Skyrim's writing is uninteresting after Morrowind.

There's a homage to MK's http://www.imperial-library.info/content/fight-six-911th-cow in Skyrim. Namely you can see a farmer bringing a painted cow to giants.

Heimskr quotes some MK works too.
