First skyrim roleplay

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:11 am

I svck at coming up with ideas so I am looking for suggestions

Name: holdar the happy
Race: nord

Backstory: when he was young he was not too intelligent and was picked on by all but his friend ralof. When he was a bit older, his family moved to cyrodil. Many years later he had settled in to his new home but his parents were attacked and killed by bandits, he was also nearly killed when by chance, a werewolf killed the bandits but never noticed him and left, he assumed that the werewolf had helped him and after mourning for his parents he went to skyrim to try to look for this werewolf. Upon entering skyrim, he bumped into his old freind Ralof and got caught in the imperial ambush

That is the best so far. As I said, I am looking for suggestions

its fine but look at nord names in uesp for better names.

then think about alignment and character disposition. beyond good and evil but towards real choices and actions.

a nord warrior will not participate in the thieves guild. unless, later in his life they change. think.

Just had a thought, since he is looking for a werewolf and is not too bright, maybe he could hover aroun the companions and get in their way all the time

I like your name. Titles like 'Ironfist', 'the Black blade', 'Orcslayer', etc... etc... and other equally generic warrior names are over used. Haldor the Happy is a fan-[censored]-tastic name. Excuse the profanity but I feel its necessary to communicate the awesomeness of the name. (though somewhat ironic considering his tragic past and blood soaked future)

My suggestion for improving your roleplaying would be to give Haldor specific personality traits and stick to them as much as possible unless some event in the game would give him reason to change his beliefs/habits/personality.

For e.g.: Haldor's favourite food could be roast venison. He could love a good tankard of mead but dislike the posh taste of Aldo wine. He could dislike a particular race for some reason (e.g.: Bretons because the group of bandits that s;aughtered his family consisted mainly of or was lead by a Breton.) This could change later after interactions with a Breton companion or quest giver that changes his outlook.
Spoiler

After eventually becoming a werewolf and eating some people during his initial rampage in Whiterun he could be horrified and swear off meat forever because of the trauma of eating other humans.

Thats all i can come up with. EDIT: Actually a better enemy race to choose could be Orcs. Since theyre bestial by nature and that way Haldor's personal quest could be to track down and destroy every last Orcish stronghold in Skyrim. Later on you could have him see the error of his ways and seek atonement through some sufficiently righteous quest.

Now thats all I can come up with. Hope it helps.

Thanks for that, I like a most of those things you posted, I did pick the name for irony

I like the bit about orcs

I was also thinking that he could have a personal vendetta for bandits, killing them in the most painful way possible

he just killed a group of bandits, removed all but their shoes and then lined up their bodies, he then placed a wolf pelt by the corpses in reference to his encounter when he was young

While looking around whiterun, he caught a familiar smell, when he followed it, he was just led to the rock beneath the skyforge, he hovered around the companion's hall for a while until he was kicked out for spilling mead everywhere, he is now resting in an inn hoping it will disguise the fact that he stinks of mead
