The Dawnguard Teaser-Image (Game-Wide Spoilers)

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:08 am

I would post this in the DLC topic, but as of writing this the next one has not popped up yet.

Am.. I the only one vaguely worried?

I'll explain myself. We can already be a Werewolf/Vampire-Nightningale-Dragonborn. I'm scared that those eyes will be a mandatory part of another forced-to-continue transformation that my already overloaded character will have to deal with. I'm not sure I want whatever the eyes imply, even though at this point we don't know what it is.

Any ideas? There seems to be a definite shape inside the glow. And I don't think we are becoming Rider from Fate/Stay Night so thats the only idea I had out.

There will probably be multiple side quests, of which one maybe where you get the eyes. Could be something to do with vamps

This DLC most likely has nothing to do with any transformation or vampires whatsoever.

Stop reading those gossips and you'll feel much better.

We don't know what the DLC will be about. Glowing eyes can symbolise Dragonborns growing power and the title can be even connected to an item. But thats just my imagination. We will know in 1 month.

We don't have to be a vampire in Skyrim ... yet. I do swear it seems like Bethesda is shoving the story down our throats a lot this time around. The only way I can really role-play most of my characters is to either not start or never finish many of the faction quests.

It's always been like this...

Weve always ended up a faction leader, weve always been the ''Saviour'' in some shape or form, i see no difference than usual to be honest we just have less dilouge (in my opinion).

whenevere weve Fransformed into a werewolf the times always been limited (withought mods) there was some sort of drawback in Bloodmoon...cant remember for the life of me what it was though.

Weve always been forced to look Vampy when we go into Vampire form (vaious stages) always have had to feed to stay alive/stage1 or w/e.

The only way i have ever been able to Roleplay my characters is to ignore the main quest(s) almost completley or play it until the point that im no longer a ''bystaner/informant'' i never get faction lead as it doesnt suit me, for instance the Thieves guild this time around for my vamp character was absolutley perfect story wise and i also get to leave them in disary (withought a real leader) so thats great! :) thats all ive done so far though!

basically my poin it: personally ive always felt this way and just ignored the bits i dont want to do, the great thing about the TES serious is although once started the stories are full-on and difficult to get out of RP wise they never force you to begin the ''real'' main quest at all you cna literally do whatever you like.

also this is the first ive heard of the DLC thing so i'm going to hunt around and see what i can turn up :P

I agree with you, but - if this is a development of the Dragonborn concept, then I am very excited. To continue as Dragonborn and discover new things in that role is awesome.

But if this is something new entirely, then no thanks. Much like you described, my character is already both Dragonborn and a werewolf. Adding something else to that is just... bloated and messy.

If its going further down the path of the Dragonborn, I agree, that would be awesome.

However, you put it well. Something new on top would make the character seem bloated.

Well, since it has the word "Dawn" in the title...maybe it has something to do with the Mythic Dawn trying to return.

My character is just a vampire assassin.

Haven't touched the MQ, the companions are too warrior-like for my style, haven't become leader of any faction (clocking 200+ hours too, never felt like I was forcing myself to avoid these things).

If the DLC is about vamps, I'm in a perfect postion.
If it's about anything else, I still have "room" on my character to become whatever those glowing eyes suggest.

I can't wait for E3, I'm dying to know what it's about.

One other thing to consider.

Tiber was a man, but after his events in Skyrim, all the nords saw only a dragon when they looked upon him.

I'm pretty sure Dawnguard will involve the Thalmor a lot more, the glowing eyes are sure NOT about werewolfs/vampires, why would they want to put emphasis on things that are totally mandatory, while, technically, like it or not, you are the Dragonborn by the moment you see ''Bethesda Game Studios present: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim''. The Greybeards named you Ysmir too after all, perhaps Talos mantling?

Well starting with TES1, I can not recall any major faction requiring anything like becoming a Werewolf or swearing eternal servitude to a Daedra. And you didn't always have to be the leader either. I recall in MW House Telvanni you could actually refuse after finishing all the factions quests (in fact some of my characters did this).

But I do feel like someone at Bethesda thought being a werewolf was so awesome that it needed to be forced upon us. The whole Companion quests could have easily been written so that you did not have to become a werewolf yourself, but no, they chose to force it or never finish the faction. And to me this is major as most of my characters are Nord warriors and of course they would want to join the famous Companions, and what do I get...

With the new DLC, I don't know. If we are again forced to be something just to complete the quests I will be pretty ticked about it. Bethesda needs to use their imagination a little more and assume that we use ours.

I`ve been searching around the internet and I found some very interesting information regarding Dawnguard DLC content.Someone has scanned the files from a future patch that clearly mentions - Snow Elf prince, crossbows and ascension burning? ( some kind of spell maybe?) on the site itself many people are discussing wether or not the Snow Elves maybe a playable race also. Not sure if anyone else has seen this site? ( not sure wether or not I can mention the site?)

This is the problem for me. Prior to Skyrim coming out I was searching and gleaming any tiny bit of information I could about Skyrim to the point that 90% of the internet time was on it. Video leaks, interviews, etc. Honestly I just want to pretend this was never shown since all they did was give us enough to wonder, and nothing else. For a month now people are going to be guessing and speculating on what the DLC is about and come June, that will all be moot. Ugh, I just got way over-hyped for Skyrim and am ready to just let whatever it is come whenever it's ready and not think to much about it.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the case.

Anyways, snow elves are the falmer. So it's not going to be a playable race.

If there is a quest with vampires, as leaked code shows, then yeah, those eyes could hint at that. But I doubt it will be part of the main quest.
