Hmmm. So she can die... Lydia...

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 12:36 am

Well loyal Lydia actually died.

WAs doing this Potema job that I was first asked to do at level 2, but never got round to it until level 20. I really can`t see how I would`ve been expected to accomplish the job at level 2 because it was HARD. It took me HOURS to defeat her and I had to use all kinds of techniques to eventually succeed on Master level.

Maybe it`s that level scalling thing...

Anyway when the dust had settled (finally), I noticed that lydia, so loyal Lydia, was nowhere to be seen. I searched through the bodies littered about the floor and there she was... beautiful in death.

I picked up her body and took with me to take outside. she came this far with me... She was going to leave with me. she`d want that...

Then suddenly her body vanished!

Maybe the gods of Skyrim took her to reward her for her selfless sacrifice.

Sniff. I walked back to Solitude slowly...

There is a bug which sometimes happens if you raised her as a zombie and left the place then fast traveled back to town she will sometimes follow just go into your house and wait for her to turn to ash then leave wait a month and sometimes not all the time she is back as if nothing ever happened.

In my playthrough she died so many times. Based on experience, you can accidentally kill her if you attack her while she on the ground, which happens whenever she is low on health.

I kinda did the same I wanted to give her some armor I tricked out and she gave that sarcastic tone "I am sworn to carry your burdens" told her to come take a walk with me and we traveled until i found this absolutely stunning view over a cliff looking out across an impressive waterfall. It was then I turned on some romantic music on the radio looked deep into her eyes then gave her a sound "Fus Ro Dah!" to her death. Well she survived the fall barely I think, but a sabre tooth cat below finished her off.

I think she voice acted it wrong. She shouldn`t sound sarcastic. Her job is a great honour and she shouldn`t have that sarcastic sound to her voice. In reality men killed themselves gladly to serve the Thane.

Yea I dead thralled a necromancer and then I killed it in riften and threw it in the water...damn thing musta resurrected itself, left riften for awhile came back and there it was standing on the dock by the entrance to the ratway...all it does is stand there now in the same spot doing nothing.

p.s the reason I call 'it' it is because when I dead thralled 'it' it was a female and when 'it' came back to life 'it' gave 'itself' a six change.

Probably, but thinking back on it I am inspired to recreate it in a video especially with the song I turned on before offing her.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62XB9IbMnxQ the song.

Lydia was the first companion to die on me with my Khajiit Mage, the Falmer got her quite easily. Sadly, I can't say I'll miss her much. On the plus side, I found and rescued Derkeethus, possibly one of the best (and my favorite) companions in the game! The Falmer Mage must have done something to Derkeethus because he simply cannot die! :bunny:  :bunny:

Last night I was battling some mage falmer and launched fireballs at him. Lydia was in the vicinity aswell. A message popped up saying 'Lydia is too strong for flames' and yet, she died lol!

I reloaded a save of course.

More importantly, what were you doing in Solitude at level 2?

I thought about reloading a save for Lydia, but that meant I would have to go through the humongous fight with the villainess all over again. No way, she was hard enough to beat first time!

Sorry, but Lydia had to stay dead this time...

I dunno. I always travel around first time I start. I grabbed the cart and went to the first interesting sounding place. I never immeditaely follow the MQ. More interesting that way... But it does explain why I might`ve been offered a very hard job.... hmmmm.

Just out of curiosity, why does everyone like Lydia? She seems to have an annoyed tone every time you ask her to do something, it's like she's only doing this JUST because the Jarl ordered her to serve you.

For me, she was the best of the choices I`d so far met. The other companion was an annoying wizard who wouldn`t shut up. Also, she was sort of `given` to me by the Jarl, so I felt like I had to `keep` her.

She kind of grew on me after that. When she said stuff like, "I`ve never seen that before." It was kinda cool.
