What would become of Skyrim if Bethesda never approached Fal

One thing directly from fallout is the item menus.

In all pst games you have a your character's in the items menu that shows what you had equipped. Fallout didn't have this (as in previous game it had the cartoony item images), and now Skyrim doesnt have a character, only item models.

Skyrim has been influanced alot by fallout 3.

Bethesda kind of experimented with Fallout 3 and took what worked and brought it into Skyrim.

What would be different? Some people would like it more and others would like it less. Probably would be roughly the same game in terms of the basic structure but other things would be vastly different. The perk system and a lot of other ideas for example. Less Radiant Story too.

Don't really see much direct influence. I'd rather say both are Bethesda games and therefor share certain aspects ect. Overall, Fallout 3/NV was much more influenced by TES than Skyrim is by Fallout.

perks - as I said, this is probably more of a general concept they included in both games
magic- don't really see why magic is said to be lacking; sure there are less spells, no spellmaking, but the cause being "no magic in Fallout" sounds far-fetched
dungeon design - "in fallout they had there own story likewise in fallout" please elaborate?
merchants- how are they different from previous TESs' merchants?
level scaling- I think level scaling was a major part of Oblivion ...

Honestly, I don't think they would have chosen Skyrim for the provence of TES V. It would have been something like Black Marsh, Elsweyr or Summerset Isles. I think the Fallout stuff helped them decide the location based off of the landscape of Fallout.

Yeah they would have because there was speculation and even a website somewhere before Fallout 3 with Unofficial leaked info that they already had the Province of Skyrim planned. Maybe BGS would have built a new engine if they weren't pi**ing around with the Fallout series between TES games and had time to iron out the problems. I see alot of people post the crap that BGS had 6 years to make Skyrim which is DEAD WRONG. They worked on FO3 between there. Which IMHO didn't give them the proper time they ususally had to work on TES and fix the issues.

I have said it before about the way BGS has been working the last 6 ot 7 years now. Too many hands in the cookie jar and too many cooks in the kitchen. All Zenimax wants is for BGS to make them profit at any cost. Simple bottomline of Business.
