Archer Stuff

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:26 pm

I have a few things about the Archer type of class.

First: Do you guys have any names for good Wood Elf Archers? I'm going to be Male, and be ________ The Hunter
Second: What groups, side quests, misc quests, and areas should I explore as an archer so I remain strong and not only be on the main questline? As an archer (I haven't made my char) I really want some good side quests, misc quests, Thane tasks, and dungeons/caves that will take me to level 15. I also want a few good factions to join that also give me quests. Only use quest, faction, and area names.
Third: (LABEL IT AS A SPOILER IN COMMENTS IF IT INCLUDES SPOILERS IN BIG FONT AND RED!) Tell me some good tips, tricks, and areas to find good Bows, Arrows, One-handed weapons, and light armor. As well as enchanting gems, smithing ores, etc.
Fourth: What areas should I avoid until level 15?
Fifth: What should my stat build be?
(edit) Sixth: What followers should I have (state name, location, and when to get)

Thanks for answering all/some of my questions! any info appreciated!

I swore for a second you where going to post something about my favorite show lol

Name: Legolas XD, not but seriously Mahariel, Kokabiel, Hawkeye, Runs with Wolves, Flying Sparrow, Falling Leaf, goes on and on and on....
Companions

tips: You can actually hit your targets in third person efficiently just remember that the dot is where the arrow will go and you can pretty much clip the wings off of a butterfly from a hold away.

Pretty much anything that isnt Whiterun until you have some decent armor and a good amount of potions, there are plenty of quests and dungeons in the area to get you to lvl 15 rather quickly, also before leaving the first cave with either Raylof or the other guy, beat the crap out of them to lvl up sneak one handed archery 2 handed and magic. They never retaliate are immortal during that time and when you sneak so long as your not infront of them you will always get a sneak bonus when attacking them in sneak mode. Also Wander around the roads a bit and wait for a thalmor encounter. if u cant kill them set it to novice, and do it so you can get yourself on an elven armor set quickly its good light armor especially for lvl 15 where variety is lacking and the only step above that is Glass and Dragon so stick to Elven till Glass becomes more frequent.

Hp and stamina. If you are into some magic, then invest into magic last after you have enough health to take on a draugr wright without getting insta killed or a bandit thug, Stamina will be important for running as you will be doing a lot of it as an archer.

wood elves have elvish names, lots of ***nor sounds, ex gaenor, thorinior, airinor, ect, Dark brother hood gives out some equipment good for stealthy archers, and i'm pretty sure the thieves guild does as well (partway through it atm) the companions have some fun misc quest, and give off the hunter vibe

Play the game and discover all those quests, items, areas and whatnot yourself, that's part of the fun in a game like this. Every experience is different, make your own.

Just get out there and do it man. There really is no specific set of quests or dungeons for archers, it's all about how you take on your surroundings.

You won't find any super bows as loot or to steal, so smithing/enchanting/alchemy (smithing + alchemy/enchanting = super bow). At level 52 I'm still using an Imperial bow I got at level 5, just kept upgrading it along the way. To me, the Imperial bow is the only one that looks perfect. The other basic bows are too simple or ugly and the more advanced bows just seem over the top. Of course, I'm also still rocking the TG armor with DB boots just because it's what looks best to me. I hate that stupid lump on the right shoulder of generic leather armor.

Dark brotherhood would definitely be worth checking out for armor, you might wear some of that stuff until endgame.

As far as crafting supplies goes, I usually save hides from animals in the wild to use as leather, and buy my ingots from whatever town has 'em.

It will take you NO TIME to get the hang of things, just get in there and mess around.
