The missing additive for total Immersion..

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:04 am

With all of the cutting edge technology and award winning design that went into Skyrim making it the prime guideline for all future RPG titles, I'm very surpized that the character creator is still a step or two behind the times.

This would have been a kick ass feature as discussed in the first 60 seconds of this Vid:

"Because it's your own face getting all beat/cut/bloody!"

Gee, that just sounds wonderful.

(Also.... I've never understood the desire to make "yourself" in an RPG. Why make "you" as a character, when there are so many other interesting characters to make? But maybe that's just me.... I've never tried to recreate my face in any game I've ever played. The idea never even occurred to me until I saw threads like this.)

no, the missing additive to total immersion is the fact that you do not have a pair of Turtle Beach head phones. Get them, use them, love them. I will never play another Elder Scroll title without them. They are incredible.

I hear ya Kira, but I've always played RPG's that way, i look at an RPG as a vehicle to escape the world for a while and get immersed into another realm and to really add to that experience it makes no sense to make yourself look like a stranger, that just takes away for the overall escape factor instead of really making you feel that "you" yourself are in another world, just my two cents and a nickel with a warm mug of mead

Hey now, at least it appears I made you laugh which was my intention. ;)

P.S. Can't we just fast forward to Season 2? I still have book 5 to read though in the meantime.

The thing is... how can you put your face on something that is technically not a human? Sure, it could work on Redguards, Bretons, Nords and Imperials, but not on anything else... so, I see no point in putting it in...

You can still do it with a mod though...

Cutting edge? The game is designed around 6 year old tech. There's nothing cutting edge about it.

And yeah, Skyrim is perfectly fine without that feature.

I like the fact that my character looks good after a fight, I dont see the appeal in swollen eyes and bloody infected wounds, and I dont wanna have to go all the way to like the town quack to have these things treated. also, if you get hit by an arrow, do you take it out or leave it in?
