Intro quests for noobies?

Back to your weight comment, as well as being broke: One thing I'd suggest is that, when you're in a dungeon, clear it out first. That way enemies won't re-spawn. Then start raiding bodies for loot. Alternately, use one of the chests and or dead bodies to hold loot. That way, you can come back, collect everything in several trips and sell it all.

Yeah good lord i went to white run. Awesome city, i have like more quests that i care to count in my log now. I read most guides and they say reccomended lvl for most dungions in the game is like lvl 6. So i guess getting those first 5 lvls is the hard part cause nearly every dungion you enter at lvl 1 or 2, you pretty much get killed rather quickly because at that point you have hardly no perks or skills. But i guess at aroun dlvl 5 or so is when you start to get some better skills, according this guide im reading. I am just grinding for right now, going around the differnent bandit camps south of riverwood just littered throughout and lvling that way for right now. Just kind of exploring around. I ran into this moutain that was snowy, could hardly see and there was this barrior blocking off the path so i turned back. Wonder where that leads.

I turned off auto save cause i figure that caused a lot of issues or so i heard on the ps3 version. So i just save manually my self at every critical point. That way i can just reload if i screw up. I ran into a few jiants just sitting down at this camp and oh man did they beat the crap out of me. One hit KO's, those guys must be stronger then hell. That is the last time i mess with any giants. Still have not seen a dragon yet.

I am really into ranged fighters, im not much of a melee fighter, thats how most all of my builds have been in any game ive played before like most mmo's im usually always either the "hunter/bowman" or the "mage". I was thinking bout treking to winterhold since thats where you can get some great taining for mages. But oh man is that long journey lol. All the way clear up at the nothern side of the world and i can't fast travel thier untill i visit it first, which i kind of like. It promotes more traveling that way in the game.

There is no standard (leave your mmo mentality behind you for this game) at which to set your character against. Ive played a character for over 20 hours at level 1....some people try to do the main quest and as much sidequests they can at level 1 (some restrictions apply in some cases). You honestly cannot svck at this game in any way, the only standard you set is against your self and how you enjoy the game. No need to 'grind' (unless you are hitting max level and need that last few perk ups so badly you can taste it), no need to try and aim for god hood (though you can its your game but not a necessity to enjoy it)....just, play. Explore what you want, when you want, just know your own limitations and make a plan if you die the first time. There is no penalty for dieing, its the best learning experience you can get.

You are worrying too much over this game, you have a clear grasp on your character, and you are still at a low level with much to explore and learn. You WON'T screw up don't sweat it. And let's just say you are unhappy with how your character turned out (for whatever reason, it happens ALOT with our first playthrough on a new TES game) start another, and experiment.....or experiment with a character on the side... even if you are satisfied with your first character, I can almost guarantee you will be making another, and perhaps another, and another......

Im not sure what 'guide' your using but they sound a bit redundant for a game such as Skyrim.....sure there are some quests that you may need help with, but I find the wiki's much more beneficial and they contain more information most times (even more then the Prima guide).

the way to go as a mage is to take the carriage to winterhold and do the college questline, because you get some sweet amulets and a nice hoodie :P
I think Winterhold makes a cool intro area. [edit] If you're a mage, of course. But some of the way is designed gives a good intro to your most common enemy.

The only down side to doing the Winterhold quest line too early is Ice Wraths, they kill. If you get into the college, talk to everyone and find the guy selling destruction spells, buy the flame atronoch summon, and use it like it was going out of style. I had to go slow through Winterhold, any time I spotted an Ice Wraith in the distance, summon my flame atronoch and let them go at it while I prepped my flame spell, use a resist frost potion if I had it, then jump in the fight. If you have good luck, your atronoch will get off the first shot, because the two creatures counter act each other, but if you are a lower level, the Wraith shouldn't be that much higher in level than you are, so your atronoch should be pretty even with it as far as level goes (yes, even your summoned atronoch is better than you, don't beat yourself up about it ).

I suggest reading "Lost Legends" and doing the quest, Forbidden Legend. It has a good reward.

Chop wood at riverwood until you can afford armor/weapons..then go talk to the Riverwood Trader and do his quest in Bleak Falls Barrow.

Maybe enhancing a few weapons and armor should help me out instead of just holding onto standard armor and weapons from the shop. I do like using magic but my fire just isn't strong enough, i found the best way to handle foes at my lvl right now is to use a good a one handed sword and a bow for long range. Instead of just running into the frey. I am using a sneak approach and then ill get the jump on them first, pelt them with arrows and try to kite them then when they get close switch to a shield and use a sword and shield to finish them off.

So far that tactic has worked best for me.
