Just a quick question - how do I keep getting the Shadow Stone marker on my map? It's greyed out, yes, but I don't know how it gets there. I don't have any quests related to it, but I have found it on my last two characters (maybe I just didn't notice it before). Is it the topic of NPC conversations or something?

Have you done some Thieves Guild quests? Iirc, you're supposed to meet someone at the stone or nearby, during those.

Could be from opening An Explorer's Guide to Skyrim. It usually pops up after opening that book for my characters.

No, I haven't done any TG quests with this character.
