I shall admit it...

So since i first got Skyrim, i have said that i have not run into any frame rate issues or lag at all... and though that is true, all good things must come to an end. So my good acount nord is lagging badly.

So i have a question. I'm on ps3 obviously, so if i start a new game on another acount, will the lag follow suit and lag me from the beging? i'm switching acoutns on my ps3 that's all.

From what I've heard, it isn't accounts that are the problem. I think the save file grows as you play the character for longer periods of time, because it's apparently having to write a longer save file with more information about the world. I don't know if there's any fix for that.

The lag is related to how much you've done in the game, so a new game won't have as much lag as your old game.

Ok, so if i make another save file on another acount, will it delete my good save file on the other account? i can't seem to make 2 save files on the same account...

yeah my ps3 games have gotten all laggy and such so I stopped playing for awhile and only playing skyrim on my PC when I am not at home which was it's purpose aside from future mods.

No, saves on a separate account won't be affected.

You should always have multiple backups of your save files, there's been loads of reports in the PS3 forum of file corruption, it's not safe at all to just have one file.

The lag has to do with memory allocation. When you do things in the game, the game has to remember it. When you knock candles off tables..when you move apples and run into things and they move..the game now has to remember that. The more you do, the more quest you complete and engage, the more NPC's you talk to, etc, everything in the game uses memory, and the game has to allocate that memory from visuals/FPS when there is too much to do.

So a new game will not lag at all.

I find that my game (PS3) only lags after I've stuck in a few hours of continuous play. Restarting the game fixes the problem for another few hours.
