Lydia stole all of my loot!

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 2:09 am

I have Lydia as a Follower.
I "live" at the College of Winterhold.
I put my stuff in the barrels in my room.
I had Lydia remove some stuff from a barrel.
Now all of that stuff is tagged as 'Stolen'.
I do not want to become a Thieve's Guild member nor do I want to have to waste perks in the Speech tree in order to get a fence.
Is there any other way to reverse this??
I have some high end items I need to sell!

Thanks.

Lydia stole nothing from you; that's what happens when you ask your follower to take something. It become his, or hers in your case. Maybe you could find a mod that removes the "stolen" tags somewhere?

theres a glitch you can use that means you can make lydia or any follower carry all ya loot if thats any use. just drop loot on floor an get follower to pick up theres no weight limit when you work it like this an they can carry as much as you can be bothered to sift thru in the menus. i dunno if wot your doing is the same thing if it is then its the taking stuff outta chests an barrels thats the problem an you should stop doing it that way. if you pick up and drop items on the floor first they shouldnt be stolen when followers pick them up. its defo an annoying bug an should only really happen if followers pick up stuff outta someone elses chest/barrels an not on ones in a house you own.
ive had that happen before an was like wtf even with stuff ive crafted an you tell the follower they can pick up outta a chest/barrel. it doesnt make any sense. now i just take anything i need myself an give it to the follower or drop it on the floor if i need the unlimited weight glitch.
i actually stopped playing skyrim a few months back got really bored of the same ol quests an its been out like 8 months now an still no dlc out its jus soo boring after 4-500 hours doing the same [censored] on different days. i still get an urge to play tho, just waitin on dlc to finally be released. ( shame i bought ps3 copy.)
goodluck on ya game an dont let ya followers pick up stuff outta crates etc.
oh yea soz but i dont think you can reverse it, once an items stolen its stolen an theres no going back. best thing to do is let lydia keep the stolen stuff an just make new stuff or find it. not much help i know.( might be wrong tho there may be a random way i dont know of)

Tired of an inventory full of stolen things and no one to fence to? Tires of your Companions inventory being full of good that end up being stolen and you can't sell them?

There is a barrel in Dragonreach where if you put stolen goods in and your companion takes them out, the stolen tag is removed from the items. I don't know why this is the case. most times if you put items in a container and ask your companion to empty the container, all the items end up tagged as stolen. For some reason this one always works.

When you enter Dragonsreach, go up the stairs and take a left into the kitchen area, go down the stairs into the servants quarters. Take a left at the bottom of the stairs and it is on the left in the corner with a wide bowl on top of it.

Again, just take any items you or your companion has that is tagged stolen, put it in the barrel, then ask your companion to take all items. When you take the items back from your companion, they will no longer be stolen.

I do not know how many any of the other containers in the area or other places in the game this works in. This was actually the first place in the game I tried to give my companion items in and I discovered that any other barrel or container I tried, except for the ones in my house came up as stolen.

Let me know if you know of other places like this or if there is something I am missing. Thanks!
