Skyrim difficulty

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:33 am

So I have started playing Skyrim and I think I am about level 6-7 now. I play a battlemage using destruction and two-handed.

The problem is that I am facing Snow trolls and sabre lions all over the place and I can do nothing against them.
They have lots of health and kill me in 2-3 hits.

So I was just wondering: Am I svcking so bad because 'Flames' svck and I should have replaced it already and because mage robes svck and I should wear armor instead? Or do you think it is something else...

Hi,

you are taking on enemies that are too tough for you currently. Build yourself up and return later.

There are going to be areas/places/dungeons in the game where you'll have to run, and return later.

There's no shame in running, "Those who run live to fight another day."

Good luck.

PS: Suggest light armor, learn enchanting (don't powerlevel it). Also, I think lightning bolts/chain lightning (later) do more damage than fire.

Oh so Skyrim isn't leveled? That explains a lot.

Thanks for your replies, I get it now.

Hi,

Skyrim is leveled, only not as Oblivion. It`s not as player centric.

I think you're playing it as difficult as you possibly can.

Why? Well, your "battlemage" wielding a slow two-hander AND not wearing armor? Kind of makes the weapon useless if you can't stand long enough to swing it more than once or twice. I'd certainly go one-handed and magic in the other. If not, you're essentially playing an battleaxe-wielder in his underwear. That's going to require a LOT of potion drinking.

Also, yes Flames is useless get Firebolt if you can. Also wearing cloth gives you no armour value which is why they kill you so quickly. I would suggest either getting armour (heavy or light doesn't matter up to you) or train in Alteration so that you can use the protection spells.
