BoundMystic Weapons vs. Daedric Weapons

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:37 am

I was wondering if anyone knew which was better? I heard some people say that the Bound weapons are better than Daedric weapons and vice versa. I'd like to know the truth for future Archers, Thieves and Battlemages. Thanks in advance.

I believe Daedric weapons are the best in game. You can make them absolutely ridiculous if you use alchemy, enchanting and smithing to their fullest potential, breaks the game pretty much.

Bound weapons are daedric weapons, but they do waaaay less damage and you can't improve them outside of that perk.

But I think the perk is essentially the same thing as improving a daedric weapon with smithing. I think Mystic do more damage than Daedric by like 4-6 base points and Bound do the same as Daedric, I'm not sure though, I'd like someone to confirm it.

I don't think they do the same damage as daedric, giving that potential power to someone at such a low level sounds illogical. But i could be wrong.

although you can't enchant Conjured weapons (svcks not even a form them from Magical fire/Ice/Shock?) you can have Soul trap PLUS banish Daedra and Turn undead, perfect for my "Holy Warrior", sadly they are....essentially "good" Daedric Weapons, in that they aren't "evil" per say.

Bound weapons with the Mystic Binding perk have exactly the same base damage as their Deadirc counterparts, and are affected by all related weapon perks.

That said, if you have Deadric weapons, odds are that you're smithing them and can improve them, so those are better. On the off chance that you're not using Smithing, then Bound weapons are useful throughout the entire game thanks to their potential "enchantments" and damage rating. If you've got, say, Enchanting as your only crafting skill, then keep the weapon--it's a free and easy soul trapping weapon, as well as a potential banisher when necessary, and, most importantly, you may find yourself investing in other perks and summoning the occasional Atronach.

ALSO

Two important notes:

-A user above stated that the Bound weapons essentially have three enchantments: Soul Trap, Banish and Turn Undead. That is wrong; Banish turns raised undead, not all undead, whereas Turn Undead, obviously, turns all undead.

-Secondly, and most importantly, Bound weapons have no weight. I don't know about the sword and battleaxe, but this does affect the Bound Bow: it will draw faster. In fact, since Deadric weapons weigh the most in the game and Bound weapons are weightless, the Bound Bow will draw the fastest of any bow in the game and the Deadric bow will draw the slowest.

Obviously, this should be taken into consideration. Assuming 100 Smithing and none of that gamebreaking nonsense, which has higher DPS, and for how long? Because if you use a chart, one will catch up to the other until such a point where they are equal, followed by switching places. Moreover, will you be regularly in open combat or are you a stealth type? You'll want bigger hits if you're stealthy (Deadric bow) and faster hits if you're in open combat (Bound bow).
