Game version is not supported

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:11 am

I keep getting a message saying my game version is not supported and that it only supports patch 1.3.10.0us. I have done everything to try and fix this. I updated the game, updated steam, updated my system, tryed running in compatibility mode for a couple of systems (XP and Vista), Ran it as the administrator, reinstalled and reupdated the game like 3 times, I just want to play the game I bought but a technical problem plagues me...any advice would be welcome

You most likely have third-party add-ons installed that are not updated to work with newer versions of the game. Either update them or remove them.

I have no addons I just bought the game 2 nights ago...

Weird, because that's the exact message given with some of those add-ons installed. Uninstall the game, delete all INI files (better yet, delete the whole Skyrim folder in (My )Documents/(My )Games), go into AppData and wipe the Skyrim related files there (including the Skyrim folder), go into the Steam directory and delete the Skyrim folder there, move Steam outside of the Program Files directory on the C-drive if you have it there (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=231), and then try again.

All I can say is that it sounds just like a third-party add-on.
