Vulwulf Snow-Shod VS Maven Black-Brier on politcal debate

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:22 am

So after winning the civil war yet again and right after Maven lost her position as Jarl I decided to come back to Riften to do some stuffs. While I was in the city I decided to stop in at the bee and barb and what do you know? http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g322/Raidensama/Skyrim/JarlMavenVulwulfdebate.png. Since I was seriously involved in RP my imagination started flaring up like wild fires. What if these 2 got into a serious political debate? Who would win?

Maven would win. She'd hire the Dark Brotherhood to make sure of it.

Seriously though, I'm a strong supporter of the Empire. Titus Mede II signed the White-Gold Concordat because the Empire was exhausted - the Thalmor's armies in Cyrodiil may have been defeated, but they still had a large force in Hammerfell. If the Empire had continued fighting, it likely would have been destroyed. By signing the Concordat, Mede ensured that there was peace - however temporary, however fragile. I have no doubt that the peace will shatter and war will be waged. But at least it will be an even playing field, right?

Maven would probably win the debate. Vulwulf doesn't really use any decent arguments as far as I know, it's always something like "Imperials are bastards" and "Yay for the Stormcloaks". Besides, he'd also lose himself in his emotions way too quickly during the debate, while Maven on the other hand is a cold-blooded super calm person. She'll just slaughter him.

Yes, but the Dark Brotherhood isn't nearly as friendly toward Maven as she'd like people to think. After all, they did ignore at least one of her contracts. All of Maven's actual allies are based on "what can you do for me", and those relationships can be tenuous when the tides turn. Even the TG would sever their ties to her if she loses too much influence and they no longer need her.

In a debate with Vulwulf, I think she'd win initially. But a few months down the road, she might be the one to lose her cool if people are no longer taking her seriously.

Pretty much this. Vulwulf is not really the debating type, it would quickly, like very very quickly delve into [censored] throwing. But this thread does make me wonder what it would be like if we pitted Maven against someone a bit more articulate, that would be amusing indeed.

Also lol at how quickly it's turning into a civil war debate.

The Dark Brotherhood isn't ignoring Maven on purpose. When Maven performs the black sacrament the Night mother gets the message and then the message gets forward to then the Listener, which their isn't any. Maven is angry at the Dark Brotherhood because her black sacrament isn't being answered.
