recharging magic weapons

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:57 pm

i apologise for being THICKER than a whale omelette, in advance, but how does one recharge magic weapons??? in 'blivion t'was easy to use soul gems for that purpose!

also, is anyone else totally annoyed by henchpersons who always stand in doorways and won't move when one tries to pass out (pun intended)? a few punches sometimes works!

In skyrim you select the weapon and pick a soul gem instead of selecting the soul gem and picking a weapon.

If you were looking for step by step, one would have to know what system you are on. For pc with xbox controller, select weapon click top right shoulder button, choose gem, press A, repeat as nessasry.

Also note that this list of filled soul gems can be scrolled once you select the weapon you want to recharge. Took me awhile before I realized that one, felt rather... slow once I did. I blame the atrocious UI for my ineptitude on that aspect of the game.

Oh and the blocking doorways thing with companions is easy to deal with, either look at them for a few seconds (seriously, they'll move if you focus on them) or sprint into them and you'll knock them backwards and out of your way. You can also give them a little FUS if you are really getting impatient but that's a bit extreme.

Yes! What works for me is to back up a few feet. The follower will then take a few steps toward you. Then you can get by.

Count me in on this. Dammit Sven, get out of my way. This is when my wife says "huh? Who are you shouting at?"

If you're on console press the "T" key, and you need to have a charged soul gem. There is also a Enchantment perk that lets a weapon charge itself a little on every kill.

There is that perk. But it doens't generate enough of a bonus to not need to recharge an item later anyway.
