Quests for Mara - Glitch

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:17 am

I forget what they are actually called. My current character did them. I've never had the opportunity before and I know I spoke to the female priest who gives them with other characters. Anyway, it turned out to be very anti-climatic due to a glitch. I had reunited the ghost couple and they were floating up into the air. My wife was even interested in it...actually looking a little teary eyed; such a romantic. Well we are watching them float away when the woman's ghost falls back to the ground with a loud thump and a cry of pain from her. A few moments later the man's ghost does the same. My wife exclaimed "Well that ruined the moment!" I watched them for a while to see if they would float away again, but no. I then went back to Riften and received my reward. I'll have to go back and see if they are still there. Anyone else have this happen?

Holy cow.

Erm, no, that didn't happen to my quest...

I don't get it: Louis I, II, and III spawn at the Whiterun stables talking and acting for all the world like they are not half-buried in the ground. But a couple of ghosts hit the ground with real physics and cries of pain? Go figure.

Hahaha! That's pretty good.

The louis's protect Whiterun as a debt to the Dragonborn. If you pay attention during that quest you'll over hear that he has the ability to clone himself.

Oh no, what a horrible thing to have happen! It's such a beautiful moment that's supposed to make you feel great...helping to spread all that LOVE. It has not happened to me and I sure hope it never does. No way to load a save and try it again? I hope it works right in your next game. :tes:

I've had that happen, but it broke the quest for me. I guess they didn't float high enough for the quest to update.

Oh no! That's never happened to me, and I hope it never does! I did have problems during that quest, but not like that - I was talking to the husband ghost and a mage attacked me out of nowhere. While I was fighting the mage, the ghost, well, ghosted, and I had to find him again. Then I had another encounter while taking him to the wife. But we got there, and they floated together and all was well. After all that, if they'd crash landed, I probably would have... What's the "really sad" version of rage quitting? Anguish quit?

There is no way to go to an earlier save. I will try the quest with another character and hope it works right. My character returned to the monument and the ghosts were gone, but I didn't see two "stars" circling above either. It was a major let down when they fell...but not game ending.
