I just selected the Daedric smithing perk. However, only one dialogue option ever opens up with Enthir at the CoW. The only thing my character asks is "What's not allowed at the college" or whatever that line is. The option to buy something from him never pops up. I waited an hour, 24 hours, left the building, left Winterhold, and even cleared a cave, and then came back but that single dialogue option never changes.


I'm aware of quest from the guy in Dawnstar where you can get four hearts at the end, so if nothing else I'll do that, even though I don't want to do that quest again.

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

P.S. I'm Archmage if that makes any difference and I'm on Xbox (so none of those lovely console commands).

I have the same issue with him on two of my Archmages, apparently not trading with him before you are the Archmage causes him to not be able to sell anything to you when you are the Archmage.
The UESP goes into more detail, but it may be too late for your character, unless you wish to join and complete the Thieves Guild

Thanks. At least I know so that I don't have to keep trying to interact with him. This build has nothing to do with stealth and thievery so... But then again, I could get to that point in an afternoon of playing. Right now my character is nearing invincible so maybe I'll do it just for the sake of not allowing a bug to annoy me. I could turn those mercenaries on that island near Riften into dust in about 5 minutes. Nah. It's too much hassle. But thanks again.

Yeah, on my first character I didn't buy/sell from him before I became Archmage and have this issue so I can confirm it. On my 2nd one I made sure to buy/sell from him as soon as I could, but she did the TG questline so that may have overridden the bug anyway.
