Conjuration theifassasin build?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:22 pm

Does this sound viable?
I was going to make another illusion assasin, but i recently made one so I thought I'd try something else.
Skills will be;
One handed.
Sneak.
Conjuration?
Another skill?

Any ideas? :)

Im currently playing a conjuration thief/assassin, but the conjuration is mainly for bound weapons. I perked all the way up to soul trap for bound weapons and pretty much left it at that. At level 34, and the atronachs are pretty much useless. Served well early in the game, but getting Sanguines Rose trumps any atronachs or zombies you will ever summon.

As for another skill to invest in, I would highly recommend Archery. Sniping off your enemies before they even know they are under attack is always a good strategy. But take the left side of the perk tree, because the critical shot perk is not worth it. I would only get it if I wanted to get the perk above that lets you move faster while aiming, but so far with this build it has not been necessary.

Hope this helps.

I think you should add Illusion for the invisibility unless you have an ample supply of Invisibility potions on hand. Invisibility makes your life so much easier as a thief/assassin.

If you're using Conjuration a lot, you should summon Daedra/Undead so that the enemies can be distracted and weaken while you pick them off one by one.

Archery is also a good skill to have. Weaken the enemy from afar, take them down when they get close with your dagger.

Yea instead of Illusion, I went with alchemy. Charus eggs and nirn root make great invisibility potions.

Also, I am roleplaying a Dunmer thief/assassin, and so I spent a few perks in Destructrion magic. Augmented Flames adds a nice flare to my character, what with the Flame Cloak and fire resistance granted by my heritage as a Dark Elf.

Its nice to mix things up once in a while, and step outside of the comfortable shadows.

My mage/assassin is along the lines described by Jedi Master Tom. I never use invisibility via illusion, as my crazy alchemy potions do well enough. Instead, I like to use Frenzy to get mobs to wear themselves out. Also for conjuration, I nearly always use it for the Bound Bow with soul trap, with archery points for increased damage. I now have dozens of grand soul gems, far more than I could possibly use, so I don't use the bow as a primary weapon. I rarely use conjuration for dead thralls and such, except as distractions. And although I do some thieving, I never bothered with any pickpocket points on this build. Oh, and I like Throw Voice for a shout, so very handy, except I've found that it's only really effective once on a given NPC.
