Do you have to rank up Beast Mode like all your other skills

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:20 am

Finding it hard to kill witches and such in beast form so just wondering if I had to rank up Beast Form because it seems underpowered to me

p.s not whining love the game but really wish I could own with the werewolf

I don't think you can "rank up" powers/spells.
Hint: In werewolf form, you have a choice to feed on a body to regain health and increase duration. It might make you more powerful if you feed more.

so extending bloodlust would increase max health?

Well, not max health. I meant restore your health.
I'm not really sure though.
Edit: "Feed: Werewolves in Skyrim can feed on human corpses to regenerate some health and extend their werewolf transformation by another 30 seconds."
Nothing about getting stronger here. So you only get restore health and increased duration.

afaik, feeding just restores health, the beast form cant really get better, you just have to fight more tactically, you cant really level any skills for it, and you are basically naked, so the only thing that improves is your health as you level

One handed perks translate to beast form so you do more damage, plus you can use your howl to scare away all the weaker foes so you can concentrate on the tougher ones that won't flee. BS though that regeneration doesn't work in beast form.

I wish you could level them up, or have them level with you. Werewolves are pathetically weak. It takes a max of three arrows to send you flying or a few swings of a sword. When I was doing a post-save pre-quit rampage (wasn't much of a rampage) the old granny in Whiterun killed me with an iron dagger. Really? All the Silver Hand needs to do is sneeze in a werewolf's general direction and it'll topple over dead.

my case exactly. Especially the silver hand chiefs that wear insane heavy armor. I have stopped using werewolf for now and use it only on bandits and such.

One Handed Skill affects damage done in Beast Form i believe, and i've also heard that Light Armor skill and the "Agile Defender" perk effect your AR in Beast Form. Casting a spell like Ebonyflesh prior to transforming also contributes to your AR in Beast Form, but only for the duration of the spell. I have also heard that Beast Form recieves a buff at Lvl 45.

If you just run in and start swinging beast form isn't very affective but if you hit the power button while in beast form you will roar cause most npcs to freak out and run away from you (I believe you can swap that power out for others later but I haven’t got up to that yet). If you hit attack while sprinting you will leap forward, do a ton of damage and knock down NPCs. It’s a bit tricky to aim but it’s worth it. Basically you want to keep everyone separated or running and pick them off one by one. Beast form is good for weakish mobs but not so good for strong enemys.

I think werewolf scales as you level or at least receives a buff at some point but you don't have to skill level it. I don’t know if any your skills affect anything, I don't think they do. You get 100 more points of stamina and health on top of what you already have when you use beast form so you will be more effective if you have high heath and stamina anyway.

And this is why I can't wait for the CK. I don't imagine it'll be too hard to mod Beast Form to be a bit more reasonable for the higher levels.

Remember the Silver-Hand are swinging SILVER SWORDS! These are like kryptonite to Superman. Of course you have to be careful where the Silver-Hand are concerned. They are Werewolf hunters after all. My advice is to take on Silver-Hand in human form and only use Werewolf for peeps who don't have kryptonite silver swords.
