Haunted by Viinturuth

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:00 am

I've recently been encountering Viinturuth at various places across Skyrim, partly embedded in the ground, not responsive or seemingly alive but not skeletal either, just flapping away in the wind.
He can't be interacted with in any way (I tried killing him and using Fus Ro Dah to move him out of the way, to no avail).
He seems to be moving around, since he's gone from previous spots I encountered him/his corpse.
I don't recall whether I have already killed him, but I suppose it's unlikely.
His appearance may be related to fast traveling; I've been doing a bit more of that lately than I usually do.
If this continues, it's going to be something of a challenge to roleplay being haunted by a dragon corpse.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I had a blood dragon (non-skeletal, but dead) drop onto one of my previous character's head once per gaming session a while ago.

The current one killed an elder dragon on the rooftops of the College of Winterhold yesterday, and he dropped somehow through the building to the entrance of one of the dorms. He lost his skeletal status on the way down, but he was still dead.

Your issue seems related to the blood dragon "chasing" my previous character, I think (because the elder dragon didn't start chasing me - so far.)

Thanks for letting me know that I'm not alone.
The blood dragon "chasing" your previous character does sound very similar.
I suppose that some arcane set of circumstances leads to this issue.
Another bit of endearing (sort of) weirdness from Skyrim. :)
