Are game developers so unoriginal that the only symbol they could come up with for their mage college was an inverted 5 pointed star with an all seeing eye in the middle? This particular image is seeing its way into a lot of mainstream games these days and Im starting to wonder is it by design or are game artists lacking any originality. I wouldn't have noticed if I haven't seen the damn All Seeing Eye symbol in different variations in the last 4 games I've played recently.
Connect the points of the star, and it looks like an inverted holy symbol of the D&D god of magic, Boccob. Eyes are just stereotypical in fantasy magic.

Thats what I thought about the stereotypical eye symbol, but it just seems to be so popular in games that dont even use magic so I was just wondering if this stuff is by design or just random. Thanks for the response.
