Wow, my level 46 uber altmer just got her ass blown up.

Never had this happen even messin' around. My level 46 Altmer girl was at the top of Wolfskull cave and her health went from 300 to 0 in .7 secs. Of course she wasn't wearing her armor and was still messing around with the Ebony Blade so she wasn't 'at full speed'. One of those Arch Necros put down a dual wield wall of ice I guess. I promptly reloaded and equipped her with her Elven sword with 303 damage and crammed it up all their arses in about 3.1 seconds but that was one of the only times I have had a character this powerful get wacked.

Just prior to that she got shot by a Deathlord for about 250 damage and then got shouted into the wall and stuck after doing some weird fish flap up the wall, down the wall and across the floor and I had to reload there too.

The worst time I ever had in Wolfskull.....

Health 300 at Level 46? There's your problem right there.

I assume she is a mage, so that's actually a little higher than I would go.

I have retired about 10 characters now and none have ever gotten that high of level. They still all die the old fashioned way, their health goes to zero.

Well, my charcter is at level 40 with only 160 health. She doesn't get hit though, so it doesn't matter ;)

Well she really doesn't have a problem as she killed them all rather easily when she was euipped in her best stuff. She doesn't really need a lot of health, and she has quite high magicka and stamina as well.

Sounds normal for a mage. My character (spellsword) only has ~200 health at level 34; I dumped the rest of the level ups into magicka, with some into stamina, because I have an obsession with taking ALL THE LOOT.

Don't worry, though. She makes up for the low HP by having an enthusiastic wrecking ball of a tank as her follower. He has 540 health at the same level. Damage sponge ftw.

I hate it when my Longhammer wielding character gets killed, then I remember that she only has 100 health. I like playing her because she can be played as a survivable character on Master Difficulty. She is an unstoppable force when using Dragonhide, Lightning Cloak, and Elemental Fury. When I use too much Magicka to take out an Archer, instead of using a Shout, The Game seems to sense this and a Killcam always seems to engage and a lucky Arrow or Ice Spike ends my characters existence.

I had similar when I'm not prepared for a fight or when I zig when I should zag or even when I walk into a room expecting X foes and find there are 3X foes instead. Recently I was walking looking at the scenery and got 2 shotted by an ice mage. I should have responded better but I was so surprised at the first shot, that I just took a second before reacting.

It's why I won't play DID. I just am not good enough to always be cautious enough.

even at 46th level one can be be killed by a power attack or massive spell. It happens to my characters all of the time.

Yea. While being pissing at times, it does make the game more varied; you wont have those level 1 wolves or critters barking at your feet all the time.

I honestly can't see the point of playing the game dealing that much damage.

I always find deathlord ebony archers tough, also high level forsworn camps.

Did you invest in Alteration? Mages aren't a problem for my Pyromancer since I have three ranks in Magic Resistance, and the Atronach perk. The Lord Stone helps as well. Also double casting Ebony/Iron Flesh with the stability perk, and 3 ranks in Mage Armor certainly makes it easier.

I'm lv 44, and 220 health. Even if my health goes down to dangerous levels(which it rarely does), I just cast fast healing, or if things get crazy then Histskin.

Man I love being an Argonian.

Wow, got a lot of responses to my comment. My take is that health trumps everything else, but then again I'm not into being a pure mage. If you think about it, doubling your health is exactly like going from 0 to 50% resistance to *everything* (physical, magic, elements, poison). Tripling it is like 67% resistance, etc. And this doesn't cap at 80% either. :)

I like to be upwards of 500 health by the time I get to Level 50. That does include some enchanted gear, though.
