last week i made a new character, he was a monk and a devote pasifist due to rp reason boring to ppl that arnt me lol, anyway i use illusion spells like calm and muffle, to escape detection and its really fun, i didnt exspect it to be, i found my fo3 pasifist svcked my nv one was better because of dialougue, skyrims dialougue svcks so i was worryed.
But the proof is in the pudding, and im loving it, take time and some thinking. I recomend you all try it if you havethe time.
Personnal i made my monk old i wanted him to have history, so i glitch him a speech n sneak of 50 then trained on a mountain side till illusion was 50 this gives you the head start at getting the perksmake it work. i did bleak falls barrow no kills then started some mages guild stuff. my guy does kill daedria thoas those demons should be banished from our world, undead animals and humans get to live as they are just misguided.

It is interesting to see how this game can be played as a Monk or a Pacifist. As you say, the game is stacked against the peaceful alternatives.

Will you use Conjuration to Summon Minions for those times where you just can't avoid mayhem?

I always find it interesting when people find new ways to get through a game like this. I'm honestly amazed at the patience some people have for such things. I don't think I could do it myself. Even in the Thief games I had to knock out all the guards because the tedium of trying sneak past them all the time was just too much for me. But if you can get through this whole game without killing it would be a nice accomplishment.

Nope i will rp no deaths to my name, but need accidents to happen to finish bleak falls, so after calm/sneaking/turnundead my way to the end, i had to run from the boss, he was to strong to cast against, so as i ran i made it through the swinging blades unscathed, i turned to see my 'buddy' had been a tad less fortunate...Another 'solution' was required as i recovered books for the mages guild i tryed to reason with her, it didnt work so i use healing hand and a drain double magicia shock staft to remove all her magica with out hurting her(to much...) as she punched me i desided she was no longer a concern and desided to send her vial flame astronach back to oblivion, as it exspolded she was 'caught accsidently' in the blast, i tryed to save her with a ward spell bud she wouldnt come behind it. (maybe she wanted to die. lol) so my tool is trickry and rp. later in the campaign i may need to use companions but at the moment i want no deaths/kills in the menu. my tactics so far have ment im doing well with a clean sheet for all kills except daedra, 6 down and counting.

LOL, this is quite an idea. So, how will you get dragon souls to get shouts? Just keep healing Lydia, or whoever your follower is?

without spoilers i dont think i can explain but if you think about it its ok. Shouts shouldnt be a problem. Its going to be hard picking my quests, i started just for fun because ive done it before, but now im just interested to see how far i can get. Any tips on lvling pickpocket and making paralyse potions would be greatly appreachated, im shore ill need more tools in my arsenal if im to finish lot of the quests.

As a fan of the Thief series, I would've liked to have seen that in Skyrim. Knock people out instead of killing them just to get past a certain point. Then it's a race against the clock to do what you need to do before they wake up.

yeah that would really help my play through, then you could just pickpocket what you liked.
if there was a h2h skill it would have been great they could have two arms as the perk tree, at the base 5xDam perk, then a branch for non leathal that had perks for things like KO insted of assasinations, maybe disarms to. The lethal branch could have had the armoured gloves perk, then it could have been heavy or light armour, for mages, elemental fists, touch spells with punch would have been cool. Im hoping but not holding out beth may do more with hand to hand through dlc and enchantments or somthing, but ill prob get a pc in next few months so i can download and make some mods for it.

I played a similiar character but he was conflicted as the cult that raised him had a tenent to cause as much chaos as possible but the other tenant that you would not use a weapon to harm anyone made it intersting. He used fenzy a lot then if it came down to direct conflict he used calm. The guy was also a practicing necromancer and a closet smith/enchanter who I would only let use material he found.
He was fun and challenging.

On the pickpocket I always used it on bandits or other human characters then if they aggro just calm and draw back until they stop looking for you.

Good luck with the Dark Brotherhood quests!

Sounds like an interesting idea. I took the advice from this forum to avoid fast traveling as much as possible and have seen a lot more of the game than before. I'll give this idea a go. When I get around to starting a new character, that is - 140 hours in and I'm still on my first and only character.
