I am trying to complete the quest discerning the transmundane but somehow it is glitched on me. I have tried loaded a previous save file.....I have tried making other characters because it wasn't working on my lol 50 character....I have watched walkthroughs and everyones septimus talks different then mine. I can do thelexicon part of the quest but as soon as I give it to him he Does Not give me the extractor in return to collect blood ? I have no hermadus Mora guy at the cave entrance either ...I simply dont understand and its driving me nuts because this quest is stopping me from getting my plat . Can anyone help ?

Sounds like it's gone wrong. You're going to have to go through your saves and find one that works, if there is one. If they are all from after it freaked out, you won't get platinum this time.
The freakout could be anywere, some code gone wrong.

Are you sure he didn't give you the extractor?
Also, try punching him, getting aggro, then sheathing your fists. Sometimes, crazy stuff like that helps.

Check the skyrim wiki. It has a list of some common glitches and how to get around some. But yeah, you can try punching him or calming him or something.

Sounds like radiant quest blocking to me, a known issue with the radiant AI quest system. Multiple active radiant quests of a similar style will stop new similar radiant quests. IE if you have 2/3 fetch quests active in your log, it will stop newer fetch quests being given out by the AI. Basically try completing any other active fetch quests before finishing transmundane.

Ok I managed to get the septimus quest done but had to make a new character ....obvilion walker is only trophy I need to plat and septimus was only last artifact I needed to get and it still didn't work...guess you need all artifacts on same character I tried...now feel like quitting dont want to have to get all 14 other artifacts again

Yes, sadly all artefacts have to be gained by a single character.

Ok I made yet another character and got the book this time..did all 15 quests and no trophy still so checking to make sure I did it all right ...I didn't for the quest a daedra friend....I got rueful axe instead of clavious vile
