I bought Hjerim but can't buy any upgrades

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:56 am

I finished the Civil War quest and bought the house but the Jarl's steward isn't bringing up the dialogue to buy any upgrades. I know I need to do Blood on the Ice to get the thing cleaned up but in the meantime I wanted to move in and get everything situated. So do I have to do Blood on the Ice before I can buy upgrades? I'd never heard of this before. Has anyone else?

I'm hoping the thing hasn't bugged out.

Okay then. The last time I bought this house I said I'd never buy it again. I should have stuck with that.

Blood on Ice is supposed to be a requirement for buying the house

If you do take the option to clean up the house before moving in you will loose the chest that's down stairs and it's the only one in the whole house, you don't get one once the house has been cleaned up

So the dozen or so other containers in the house plus mannequins cases and racks aren't enough?

Just saying.... I like to put the big stuff like weapons and armor in chests and clothing in wardrobes etc...etc... I'm annual about sorting my stuff  and I don't trust the weapon cases as far as I could throw em, lost many a weapon to the dagger cases and some sparklies :swear:

There's supposed to be a chest that spawns at the foot of the bed in the Master Bedroom, but it wasn't there when I bought the house.

Nope not there for me either :nope: besides that I don't like the dummies being on the same floor that I sleep considering how they have a tendency to walk around the house :ahhh: so I moved into Proudspire, at least there's two floors of house between me and the dummies there
