Forsworn, Strongholds, Bugs, and Daedra

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:47 am

I was bee-boppin' up and down Markarth when I decided to read Eltry's (or whoever) note, which began the Forsworn Conspiracy. Now, keep in mind am playing a pure Nordic Warrior on his path to become a NecroKnight, and he does anything for himself first, and then the Nords second. The Reach belongs to the Forsworn, no doubt, but as a Nord - I prefer if my kinsman held control of Markarth. So... after being sent to Cidhna Mine, and meeting with Madanach, I played his little game until we broke out of those tunnels... where I proceeded to kill the guy, and then I gouth all those Forsworn buddies of his throughout Markarth, to the Stables, and to that little mining camp outside of town.

My problem? I cannot fast-travel, it says "You cannot fast-travel while guards are pursuing you"... but no guards are pursuing me (I was talking to a guard mind you), is this a bug? I cannot wait/fast travel.

Also... was the Forsworn Conspiracy a two-way quest? Like, if I helped Madanach, would Marakarth be Forsowrn? Since I killed him, do I still complete the Questline? Because it still says in my journal to 'Escape Cidhna Mine', which I've done already.

-----------------------------

After running away from Markarth, I came across my first Orc Stronghold. He would not let my Nord in... but assuming I was an Orc, would he have let me in? Does this open up more quests and stuff?

------------------------------

Are there 'good daedra' and 'bad daedra' that you can do quests for? Cause I am currently in the process of a daedric quest in Markarth... where I am helping the daedra.

No matter who you kill, the reach will still be under control of the nords. The reason you cant fast travel is probably because you have a bounty in that hold. The daedric quest in markarth is a bad daedra. he came to nirn, R@#%d a mortal, then left. The only good daedra are azura and meridia.

You actually get one additional quest if you're NOT an Orc and want to enter the strongholds. Didn't the person at the entrance speak to you?

Yes, he did speak to me.

What I was asking, is if you get a questline for the Orc Strongholds if you enter the fortress.

You get an extra quest in order for them to let you into the Strongholds. You don't get that quest if you play Orsimer.
I think you get one or two small quest from one of the Strongholds once inside, and a larger one at a certain Stronghold, but I really don't want to spoil that for you.

You've probably already figured out the Fast Travel issue by now, but, if not, manually run a great distance and then try.

Like lorelai said, there are 2 (maybe 3) Orc stronghold quests - one of them is a Daedric quest (since you asked about those quests).

Meridia is probably the only good Daedra. I consider Azura good, but some people will say she's not because she destroyed Morrowind or let it be destroyed or something similar.

Malacath, Sanquine, Nocturnal and Sheogorath are probably neutral.

Hermaeus Mora, Hircine, Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal, and Peryite are questionable.

Boethiah, Mephala, Namira, and Vaermina are pretty much evil.

Now before the lore scholars come in here and bash me I'm basing the above on their Skyrim presences.

When you say you "played his little game" - did you get the armor from him before exiting? If you did, you basically took his side and some of the guards might have regarded you as hostile. Or perhaps you simply killed a guard or a bystander in the escape melee? For the Forsworn Conspiracy stuff, check out this page for the details: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Forsworn_Conspiracy

Your stronghold options: in any stronghold except Largashbur, you'll get a quest to retrieve a pair of gauntlets (Forgemaster's Fingers). Once you do, you're able to get in any orc stronghold, but... In Largashbur, you'll encounter a giant attacking the stronghold. This event will pull you into a daedric quest for Malacath. If you use this quest to obtain your "blood-kin with the orcs" status, you won't get the option to do the gauntlets quest (not that you can keep or pickpocket them anyway - it would just be a completionist thing).

Daedra-wise: no bashing for Buckom. He basically nailed it. It's just that the daedra generally regard us as insects, so in a way, they're above our silly "good and evil" - it's like someone calling you evil because you step on ants or swat flies. It's all relative.
