found a easy place to get Lydia killed early in game

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:00 pm

I have play many characters and always hate Lydia hanging around my house and not at the point in the game where I can get her into the Blades and have had a hard time getting her killed elsewhere but then I found a place near Whirerun where a Wisp with a staff of fireball will take her or any follower out within seconds. It's North of that towered bridge, nice to have Breezhome free from her munching a raw potato in my bedroom every time I go for my sleep.

Or you could just take her out to any regular dungeon and "accidentally" bludgeon/stab/fry her yourself.

When she becomes your housecarl invite her to go to see the greybeards. As you're walking up the mountain... feed her to the frost troll.

Exactly.

Or just let her sit out the entire game.

I tried to get her smashed by two giants. When she survived that, I just grew tired of it all, killed her and pretended it was the giants.

In another game I brought her along when I did Missing In Action, with Avulstein & his crew. When five persons are trying to get into the same doorway while fighting a bunch of Thalmor, it's easy to get killed ;)

If you think shes a virgin you can give her away to Alduin. Maybe he'll stop trying to take over the world if he eats a virgin soul :)

I guess Alduin would choke on the tons of makeup.

I had taken her to Frost Trolls, Giants and hordes of Foresworn but that didn't get her killed, they leave once she goes down. Ignore her is what I've been doing for many of my characters, I didn't want to kill her (even accidentally on purpose). It wouldn't be so bad if she stayed in her room.

my character and her wife (don't ask, not my fault) would like a little more privacy.
i use either lydia or Aela as my follower. since they both live in Breezehome now, it makes finding them easy. i had a horrible moment where i did a really cool-looking killcam... on Aela :(, so i reloaded my save.

So much hate for poor Lydia. I think I'm like one out of 1,000 players who actually like her. She's the only follower I use anymore because she can level to 50 (same as all the Housecarls). Hirelings/Mercenaries and other followers you get by doing favors for top out at levels 40 and 30 respectively. J'Zhargo is the only one that goes higher than level 50--he can go all the way to 81. But the problem with him is that he's largely ineffective on Master difficulty due to Destruction not scaling. So his spells aren't that effective; and when he runs out magicka all he has are his claws to fight with. So from that standpoint, the Housecarls (Lydia included) are the most effective followers in the game.

Aela, Farkas and Vilkas go to lvl 50 as well. At least Vilkas are pretty darn good when he's over lvl 40. Just saying.

Personally, I hate Lydia because she sits in my bedroom ALL THE TIME. I wanted my privacy back, so Lydia must go (and I pissed Delphine off so I couldn't send her to the Blades, either). I don't like her attitude, either. I mean, she's not the only follower to whine, but for example Marcurio whines in a fun way (you know, "I'm not a packmule"). Lydia just seems to hate her job, or me, or both.

Cool. I did not know that; and I completed the Companions line just last night. I'll give Lydia a break and take along one of the Companions on my next few missions to see how they do. And Aela wears light armor, which my current character specializes in. I've been puttin Lydia in Legendary light armors even though she specializes in heavy so that'll work well.

I like to think she's watching over me. It would only creep me out if it was someone like Argis the Bulwark sitting there the whole time. Now that would be weird.

No need to complicate things, man. You can just kill her in Breezehome, if you can't stand her. Her corpse will be gone in a couple of days.

Just take her sword, she will be forced to use the bow, then just attack her. She's not exactly hard to kill, especially as people are usually low levels when they find her.

I've been back to the spot where Lydia died and I left her with all her gear, all that is there now is her sword and shield which I leave as her grave marker.

i'm one of the 1k too. i use her and aela, depending on what i'm doing/roleplaying. i use Lydia half the time, Aela the other half. i'm making Lydia into a Blade soon.
i don't get why so many people hate her. :stare:

I never got to know the woman. Weird. I always ignore the housecarls. The servent lady from Oblivion was such a great source of sneak exp that she might be the problem...
